Well did you hear about the new "you can't sell your house in NYC until you offer it to the gobernment first and they have six months to decide to buy it" law?

That is called communism. NYC is going to become very different.
I googled it. It's WAY more complex that your one sentence summary and it's multi unit vs a "house" and a bunch of other things I don't have time to discuss right now.

I'm off to breakfast with the Sat morning crew. We solve all the world's problems in the time it takes to eat a plate of bacon and eggs. *chuckle*

Have a good day, we'll chat later - god willin and the creek don't rise

I hesitate to get into this because University degrees and life-long careers have been devoted to political theory but, screw it, here goes...

You guys realize that any government provided service, is by definition, a socialist construct. Ya, that means, the armed forces, the police and fire depts, the roads, the mail, etc are socialist and you're living in a socialist country. Ya. Those govt bailouts for farmers? Socialist. Musk's subsidies and low interest loans from the govt - socialist. Your student loan - socialist.

Ok, I get it, the definitions cannot be mathematically exact, and like I said, you can spend a lifetime studying, but damn guys, at least learn the rough meanings of the words you're using as pejoratives.

What prompted ^this^ screed you ask? Romania was a communist country. Not a socialist. Even though it referred to itself as socialist. (see what I mean about fluid use of the terms). Just as Germany in 1939 was not "National Socialist" as they called themselves, but pure fascist.
Bullshit. You can misconstrue anything as 'Socialism" when you ignore the actual definition of socialism. Me working while my wife stays home, public schools, social security, fire departments, churches. None of that shit equals socialism. So before lecturing us on pejoratives at least learn the fucking definition of socialism.

Thanks for proving my point.

Even our system of government, governing by the consent of the governed can and has been misclassified as socialism by stupid mother fuckers trying to defend actual socialism.

@RGX_Custom @JDs Couch

Fuck me! It didn't take you two long to bring in the new year with more antagonising posts.

As expected, no surprises from you two and let's hope 2026 we can all piss each other off bigger, better and harder than 2025. (y)

looks like they're back from their kwanza honeymoon in Nigeria.

There is nothing complex about telling a home owner they can't sell their house to whom they want to.

It's just beginning.

I am about 80 min from NYC, I can feel my property value doubling by the minute.

It's striking that progressives like Tim Walz and Zohran Mamdani evoke the middle American attitude that, "Yes, we can fix these social problems because we're Americans and it's the right thing to do!" While the "America first" right only emulates failed and failing nation-states elsewhere.

Tim "somali bag man" Walz, aka Tim "Horse Swallower" Walz. Clearly JDsCrotch' kind of people.

And it doesn't matter what social construct you ascribe it to. It is the antithesis of freedom and the American way.

All these people who hate this country so much really should loom into this program called "GTFO Tours".

A stark reminder to him, the USA has 400 MILLION guns.
Not many law-abiding citizens in NYC have firearms; just cops, politicians and criminals, pretty much the same in NYC.

I just hope the people of NYC stay there to enjoy their results; unless they flee to California, Canada or New Zealand

Yes, the GTFO Tour. I wholeheartedly applaud it.

Ever hear of the Fair Housing Act of 1968?

You read my mind. Research the difference between public works and socialist government.
Public works ARE socialist by definition. Every form of government, other than anarchy, includes some socialism in its makeup. It's the degree to which they are included that is part of what makes up the definitions of the different forms of government.

Would you call the armed forces public works? What about Medicare? What about Musk's EV subsidies? Are those all public works? Obviously, no.

Why are you being purposely obtuse ? It's like saying all communist governments ( ever on this earth anyway) include capitalism in their makeup since no one is just walking up into a store and taking what they need.

There is a big fucking difference between socialism and every single one of those things you just named. You are applying the term socialism to a bunch of shit that absolutely pre dated socialism by thousands of years.

This just shows you don't actually know what socialism is. Everything you listed are social programs which are completely different and have nothing to do with socialism.

Socialism = an economic system where the government controls the means of production with the goal of eliminating class distinctions and redistributing wealth.

Social programs = government funded services within an existing economic structure such as capitalism which serve to create a safety net for citizens.

Social programs have nothing to do with controlling production, redistribution of wealth, or eliminating class structure like socialism does. Social programs are also not an economic system like socialism is. They are policies within a given system. Put simply, social programs are services which happen to be provided by the government. The only thing socialism and social programs have in common is the word social.
