What do you guys think? I'd love to hear from guys who have played them. I have a BE-100 and Bray 4550 already and love them. They are different flavors of the Marshall thing. Friedman is smooth, somewhat compressed, bigger low end, tight, etc. Bray is screaming raw plexi in the most awesome way.

To my ear (judging by videos because I have no chance to hear or play one around here) the Landry is maybe somewhere in between and with it's own flavor just like the BE-100 and Bray have their own sound and feel. To me the Landry G3 sounds more open than the BE-100 and brighter with less low end and low mids, but still sounds like it is tight and articulate. Maybe somewhere between a plexi and a JCM 800?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

The Landry is like the best JCM800/JCM800 Modded Amp Sound. Definitely different than both of those amps, actually a really good half way point between the two. Clean channel is great big Fender type clean.

Bray vintage tone Plexi on 10 /10 plus

Landry 80's / Late 80's

BE Modern

Thanks guys. From what I can tell listening to youtube videos I have to agree. The Landry (to my ears) seems to hit a really sweet spot like a combination of a really good plexi and a really good JCM800. Closer to the tightness of theJCM800. It just seems like he coolest modded JCM800 ever. I love what I'm hearing from it and Landry seems like a great guy and amp builder. I guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and get it!

if someone wants a juicy 800-type gain structure, with a lot more of it on tap, tremendous flexibility, and a dedicated clean channel - you really can't beat it.

its got crazy versatility with the gain know being usable across its range, the boost channel, the diodes, etc....and it always sounds AND feels organic, woody, natural....its a very underrated amp

Well that all sounds awesome to me! There's probably more versatility there than I really need!

I tell you what, I just spent a couple of hours talking to Bill Laundry on the phone and he was absolutely great to talk to. we spent a lot of time talking about music, amps, his experiences, and a little bit of everything under the sun. He's a very cool guy and seems to really care about his customers being happy with the amp and whether or not it is the right amp for them. Top notch guy.

Bill has always been very responsive and helpful and his amps sound outstanding! can't go wrong there

He can flat out rip too!

His new M series amps would be more in the realm of the BE/Fortin/etc modded modern stuff.

The LS100 also has a btter clean than nearly anything in it's category.

I have the LS100 G3. Love the amp, great clean, dials in brown. Great Master Volume on it. No need for an attenuator in my view.

Not to hijack, but how do you think a Landry would compare to a Splawn QuickRod?

Awesome! I went for the clean channel that breaks up some and the second master volume "rhythm master" option. Do you mind sharing how you are running it? I'll be running mine straight into a 4x12 and also in my stereo and W/D/W rigs. My speakers are all greenback or greenback clones, creambacks, scumbacks, etc. How do you like the EQ settings, etc? To me the voicing of the G3 sounds like a really good something between a hot rodded plexi and a hot rodded JCM 800. Thanks!

I actually just got mine this week, and I have to agree with all the comments above. Just a beautiful amp, so glad I get to use it, and I totally underestimated the clean channel - which is VERY chimey. Just an awesome piece of gear, and Bill is an amazing human being. Can't say enough great things about this amp, I know you'll be happy with yours!

I'd love to get one myself, his demo's are awesome but I'm just a bedroom player these days and it's overkill for me.

Enjoy your amps!

Happy owner of a Landry G3 here. Keep in mind that in some of the clips the treble and presence are turned way down. Make no mistake though: the G3 can scream and be super-aggressive if you want it to be. I'll be picking up a quartet of greenbacks in a couple of hours! Should be the perfect match for this wonderful amp.

Yeah, I'm running a 2x12 of GB's and it's perfect!

Wow guys! This is all great to hear! I'm gassing for mine bad! I can't wait to get it! Everything you guys are saying makes it sound right up my alley. Yes, Landry does absolutely rip in his videos too. I think this G3 will fill in a really nice spot between my Bray and my BE-100. I think I'll have the "awesome modded Marshall better than Marshall did it" type of tones totally covered!

I run into 2 types of cabs, 4x12 with greenbacks, and a wizard cab with green backs and heritage 30's. Will be changing out my old greenbacks in a few weeks with Scumback M75 and J75's. Effects in in the loop...neunaber wet and hardwire DL8. EQ seems good to me as I have quite a few quitar types, modern strat's, les pauls, and suhr's. Might sound interesting, but sometimes I will use the clean to drive from an elaborate pedal board I drive out front for different types of sounds to dial in Hendrix, Johnson, Gilmore etc.

Eventually I will have a more elaborate W/D/W setup but still working on it.

Marshall never released a "modded" Marshall.

Unless you consider production stuff like YJM/AFD "modded".
