Looks like I've dodged some bullets in the past not ordering those. They sure know what they want for them.I hate BKP pickups, they all sound as sterile as chinesium temu guitars
Correct opinion confirmed with Zinky Master Blaster in shot.May be late to the party on this one, but a blackface bassman might be the most versatile rock amp of all time.

Good thing you are taking a vacation cause you're gonna get banned for this when I hit report post.Sometimes even better....
Yeah, pretty much. Every time I’ve been in a store that sold boutique or higher end stuff and there was also a JCM800 or 1959/87, the Marshall always won with just having a more immediate and responsive “aliveness” to the tone. The other Amps might have more gain, more low end but you’re constantly tweaking the mids and top end to try and attain what the Marshall gets with the EQ at 12 O’Clock.Boutique amps are overrated.
I’ve owned a lot in the past 25yrs.
Give me a good 90s 2 ch recto and an old 2203 and I’m pretty much sorted
I get more mojo from these than I ever got from a bogner, wizard, diezel etc
Still great amps don’t get me wrong, but I’ll pass
After having got another Peavey sig after 30 years (Christ that’s weird to say) I’m finding so many great sounds just on the clean channel using different boosts and fuzzes. Love the amp all over again.I kinda agree there. I find the 5150 series kinda boring amps. I do like good examples of the V30, and I dig the tube screamer in front of some amps though.
PPIMV sound bad on old Marshall
You’re not moving or entertaining on stage 1/10th of what it feels like you are. Stage presence is always practiced and rarely natural.
Sounds pretty great on my 2203????
Pretty sure that's what ended his Swift affair.
I don't use mine much, I prefer to experience loud amps, but, the PPIMV is a decent alternative to an attenuator.I was trying to be controversial
Seriously, I should say "I don't like PPIMV on old Marshall", especially on 4 input NMV models.
I don't like how, beyond just a few clics down, they mess with the power amp / negative feedback network of those old amps, and what makes them sound & feel so unique when pushed.
When volume is a challenge, I much prefer other workarounds: parallel load for only a few dB off, then load+reamp or even stock pre-PI MV (like on the 220x) and/or misc boost/pedals in front.
Attenuators are garbage. Might as well just get a good boots. If you arent pushing the speakers its all 2nd rate anyways.I don't use mine much, I prefer to experience loud amps, but, the PPIMV is a decent alternative to an attenuator.
Here's an attenuator, turn your amp around away from the crowd and mic it upAttenuators are garbage. Might as well just get a good boots. If you arent pushing the speakers its all 2nd rate anyways.
