A woman who knows how to handle a firearm is sexier than a woman who knows how to play the guitar.

The audience cares about your tone.

They 100% do; they just don't know how to quantify it

so the online guitar community at large pretends they don't care about your tone to keep their feelings from getting hurt when they gig with the katana or whatever, and get a bunch of blank looks from the front row

Also, the audience probably doesn't hear fine nuances between different amps, but they do understand and feel the difference in how the guitar player delivers lines. Even if it was all psychosomatic (which it isn't) they would sense the different delivery of a player who's more in tune with their instruments than someone who isn't. There's a reason people who play in orchestra's purchase (or are loaned) very high-end, expensive instruments. It lets them get that little extra out of their performance. It's no different for us, other than we have two primary instruments to worry about - guitar and amp.

I owned one of those Blacktop Teles with 2 humbuckers. I kind of realized that it defeats the purpose of a Tele for such thing to exist. I sold it later on because the frets felt painful when moving my hands.

Bridge was still a single coil!
My wife wants one of the teles with two humbuckers and 2vol/2tone

I told her she was making the right decision because sc telecasters are disgusting.

I hate telecasters. I hate the way they hang on a strap perfectly horizontal. But I guess it makes sense on a flat earth.

I just want to throw this out there, is it unacceptable for a man to "want another mans gear". I get it if you are like right on, he is using X guitar and X Amp and that's a cool tone. But all of the sudden, his name is on your amp, now it's on your headstock. Now you are getting emails, feeling special that you "have a chance" to buy a limited edition guitar from him. And then, it comes to pass that some of these dudes are dead, and people are fighting over a tone... this passed away man is now financially taking over your life, your tone, everything. It's wild.
Well there is "influenced" and then there is "carbon copy". There is / was a CS Gibson JB "Skinnerburst" on FB local for like $10K.
To me that guitar is butt Fugly.
However Page / Walsh / Richrath and others made me jones for a LP and i wasn't okay till i had one.
Sometimes growing up with nothing beats an 11 yr old w/ $35K of gear bought by your parents.

Probably the most common mistake I hear with younger guitarists is that they tend to rush the beat and not stay in time. I learned this about myself when I was studying organ many decades ago. There's a natural tendency to rush. Once you're aware of it, you can hear it everywhere. Lots of Youtube gear channels also do this. Rushing the beat just kills the phrasing and that's why when someone plays Enter Sandman while rushing, it doesn't sound quite right.

A tele with a humbucker is not a tele.

Much like a strat with a humbucker is a super strat, any real strat/tele requires a single coil strat/tele pickup.

This is a hill I will die on.

Fair enough. We'll call it a Super Tele.

Have you compared modern (>1991) V30’s against Mesa spec V30’s? They are night and day different.
I have and I disagree. I have a Mesa OS cab, it sounds great. But I also have an Avatar cab with all Chinese V30's in it from 2006 and 2021 and they sound great too. They are a bit brighter but not worlds apart. T75's on the other hand... I just don't like them.

The older ones with vent grilles on the magnet are awesome.

Are you a fan of Janes Addiction? T75’s were in his cabs I believe.

I believe Dave is one of the finest Bluesmen to have ever lived.

Couple of Boss pedals, a Marshall head and 1960A/B cab, and psychedelic rock shaman blues master tone is yours. No Rig-Talk, no tan pants, no corksniffery and nary a pinky raised, just a tone that delivers, you, and expressing altered states.

Dave rocked that for four decades. Now he has a Friedman rig. But just think: all of that ridiculously excellent music, with what we now consider basic-bitch level accoutrements.

All here is vanity. 😂
