you've got it all.

Thanks dudes, ya she's a keeper! :) and so talented, glad you dig the headshell as much as I do. It'll look amazing in tone merchants (which already looks amazing, they did an incredible job on that place.

That's fantastic. Would love to collaborate on something for a mix of 3D CNC work with hand painting.

what would she charge for something like that?

She is thinking in the $500-$750 range, for just the art (headshell extra, or you could supply it). This one took 3 days, and there's the cost of materials too, so I think it's really reasonable...

If you're talking 24 hours of effort, that's above and beyond worth it. Heck if you're talking even 8 hours I think that's fair.

I agree I think it's super reasonable

If she came up with some designs and kept the stencils she could probably do one a day if you ordered a "standard" design from her. Standard or Custom Shop line of painted head shells. This one in this thread is super cool.

Yup, she needs to figure out a more efficient way of getting the stencils cut, as of right now she hand cuts them with an xacto knife, and then they don't last that long once you spray too many times she says the edges get weird etc. So if she could get the stencils cut somewhere once she made a template, that'd be easier. Although there's an element of cool to the fact that they are so one-of-a-kind... The coolest part is when she does the eyes, etc. With a brush, they look all 3-d, it's sick...

My girlfriend, the amazingly talented Trisha Lurie, blows me away with her art all the time- but this really knocked me out. Rob Navarette from tone Merchants wanted a custom-painted headshell for their new shop, I'm guessing it'll house a Friedman Brown Eye amp. The shop is all deep reds, really cool looking, kind of Moroccan.. So my GF came up with this design, it's all hand-painted using stencils she makes herself, and then she does all the details with a brush. Insane, no? she's doing a matching cab/grillecloth for this amp next. i put my Marsha chassis in it so it looks complete. tomorrow she'll give it to TM. Pics:
