Someone help me out here. What does Minnesota's duty to retreat law have to do with this guy being armed ?

It's basically saying you have an obligation to avoid conflict when you carry. Duty to retreat adds on to that in the guy shouldn't have inserted himself into the situation in the first place.

That's the way I understood what that part of the video said. Not that much different from what we've been saying this whole time.

And we have been saying that just from a common sense as a carrier point of view, but the way he lays out the methodology of the law was very eye opening in the context of this guys choices and key decisions he made.

I am familiar with the duty to retreat laws.
They are very restrictive.
Interesting that Minnesota allows open carry (from what i understand) and also duty to retreat.

I’ve never heard of a duty to retreat law that had any additional restrictions on when or where you could carry. That must be a Minnesota thing. Another prime example of leftists taking what should be a common sense thing and stretching it into some unconstitutional, retarded restriction on law abiding citizens. The ironic thing is that most people who carry already are going to retreat if possible reserving killing someone for a last resort option. This is concealed carry 101. Duty to retreat laws simply leave it up to some lawyer to decide if you had the option to avoid the confrontation.
