Creamtone harnesses

A friend of mine fell for the hype and put Creamtone harnesses in two guitars.

The first one he brought me to fix had a solder bridge between the toggle switch output lug and ground. No sound out. Took me a good hour to find the nearly microscopic solder blob.

The second harness, the bridge pickup tone control had no effect. Three cold solder joints, one at each end of the capacitor and one on the center lug of the tone pot to ground.

This guy’s quality control is ass. Fortunately for him the stuff sounds really great. The volume sweep is perfect and the tone controls are very useful. I guess he just needs to learn to solder and then test the harnesses before shipping them out.

3 stars.

I make my own harnesses all the time .... or use Emerson Custom ones ..... why were these guy's special ???
it’s all hype. However, the values of pots and caps were excellently chosen making them much more useful compared to the stock stuff. I usually remove tone controls but these had a very useful sweep and didn’t muddy the tone.
