Wow, I didn't pay too close attention to the MJT partscaster superstrat I bought a few weeks ago when I had the pickguard off to verify the pickups he said it had. This probably has something to do with why the mini toggle pickup selector only occasionally plays sound through the neck single coil (which I'm still trying to figure out what it is). This is bad...I may just pull this JB that's been "modified" and buy something else. The JB sounds great through the amp but damn, just knowing that this is under the pickguard kinda bothers me. I don't know if I'd even be able to sell it to someone without taking a big loss on what a JB usually sells for used. I have a Full Shred neck and bridge set, and a Custom Custom, but I don't think any of them are trembuckers, and knowing I put a non f spaced pickup in an f spaced guitar would also irk me. Now I just need to find out if the switch is actually bad, or if these horrible solder joints, and the one that broke off was like that before, or if I broke it loose while removing the pickguard...but likely it was like that before.

Anywho, enjoy the pictures, and be glad you know how to do tidy wiring and solder jobs (if you enjoy soldering):

That individual should not be near a soldering gun again. Holy hell, that is just brutal work.

Jesus christ what a fucking hack.
Some people should be banned from owning and using soldering equipment

Id rip everything out pots and all and start from scratch

I just desoldered everything. The pot functions just fine, and it has a nice smooth feel to rolling it, so I'll keep it. I'm still on the fence about replacing the selector juuuuuust in case while the pickguard is off, but I like the big fat tip on it. I'd hate to buy another one and it be a small wimpy sized tip.

Looks like a quality job...

Were i looking at this, I'd re-solder every connection before I switched pickups.

Sorry, read the last reply late; good answer.
