Hey guys, I just ordered a 100w Pro Stock Drop B+ and normally play 50w amps. Motor the plunge on a 100w based on talking to Scott.

I know they are loud amps, nut also read and read how much better the master volume and effects loop help tame the volume.

I sometimes play smaller stages, and get good tone from my 50w's playing the, at about 10:30 - 11 o'clock, including being mic'd at this level.

Will my Pro Stock be too much in 100w mode playing for the smaller stages?

Or, are the newer Splawns master volume good enough to hint that sweet spot without killing the band or patrons?

Or, does the effects loop volume help tame it at those 10 o'clock levels JUST ENOUGH without compromising the tone at all?

Feedback is helpful as I still have time to change to a Competition. Cheers!!!

I have a 100 watt Splawn

but I run it at half power

You'll be fine. There won't be that much difference volume wise between 50 and 100 watts anyway. I run the volume at around 10:30 oclock but I don't gig. I'm just a basement dweller. Good news about the 100w models is that you CAN run at half power so best of both worlds really. If you end up running at half power all the time it is advised to pull the outer 2 tubes, rebias the amp, and cut your ohms in half.

You will be more than fine if ya use the loop.

Cool. I also recall that the B+ is runnjg about 80w an Scott said if you go half power from there, you have the Competition basically.

I have the actual amp your are ordering. The Splawn's are some of the best at low volumes. I play almost silently with babies sleeping down the hall. Just use the loop volume as your master. You then run the front master up to about 11:00 and the back loop adjusted to your stage size. It couldn't be easier. The amp is such an improvement over past gens. Everything you have read about Splawns in the past in a negative light have all been alleviated.

You are correct my man, except the last two sentences are subjective...in which I will defer.
