I personally liked both the womanizer and demonizer, though the demonizer wasn't really all that aggressive like it name sounds. I have a song clip I did using the womanizer all direct and thought it turned out pretty good. I thought in general both these pedals were a step up from my other drive pedals at the time which consisted of a tonebone trimode and a TC od pedal

I agree with audioholic as well in that it didn't have as much gain on tap as I thought it would, I had it at 3 o'clock or higher most of the time to get the chunk I was after and had to worry about feedback a lot because of this. Also for some reason the opto comp dial seems to affect the amount of gain available, as opposed to just the dynamic response which is kind of wierd![]()
I initially got it because I thought it would be a good option to go direct for live shows and still get some of that tube sound, but the direct out is bypassed when the pedal is bypassed so it didn't work great in that respect, as I still had to use the JDI. It definitely sounds better through an amp than direct, although all things considered it does a pretty good job direct.
I'd assume that the Liquid Blues would be easier to dial in and be of the same great build quality, but my hunch is that it's a lot of pedal board space for what you'd be using it for and that you could probably get something smaller that would do the trick (especially if you have a glass nexus already)...I've been cruising ebay lately looking at the Blackstar HT pedals after everyone here on the board raved about the HT-5, but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet...not sure what else to suggest, haven't tried enough things out...sorry![]()
