Had the Demonizer & didn't care for it at all.

Hope the LB is a different animal with regard to the quality/type of od/dist.

I havn't used it, but I like the fact that you can mix in your dry guitar signal with the LB. I had both the womanizer and Demonizer, and overall thought they were good pedals, when used with the right amp! I am not sure however how much gain the LB has to offer, so that may be an issue.

Thanks. I listened to their LB clips, and this is what I want from an OD/Dist, light warmth. I will use this in front of a modeler amp to add preamp warmth and some light edge. I'm not looking for modern high gain, if it can get late sixties, mid 70s hard rock gain like early Humble Pie, Who, Zep, even Stones OD it would be more than enough. Looking for more of a low gain OD that can be created by the pedal not by pushing tubes. I figured the tubes in the LB would provide this? Just costs a bit more than the EH English Muff'n which is another option I'd consider, that is the type of OD gain I'm looking for.

I have a Nova Drive that I run into a tube amp, so I don't need to add tube warmth. Its OD side has a dry signal blend as well. I will give this a go into the modeler amp first. But looking for an alternative plan. Besides, I really dig the tones on the DC clips of the LB. Maybe its just GAS?!

I'm very happy with my GlassNexus even though its a big pedal.

Electric I, what didn't you like about the Demonizer? I'm suprised about your quality comment, as my GlassNexus oozes quality and ease of use. It killed my mod/delay/reverb GAS (not a big mod or delay user, and the GN is stupid simple to get a good sound, even for me!). What's bad with the Demonizer

I bet it would make a great pedal, I believe the clarity knob mixes in the guitars un-distorted sound in, something that is very usefull, and often times done in good recordings anyway to provide clarity and that note clarity.

I personally liked both the womanizer and demonizer, though the demonizer wasn't really all that aggressive like it name sounds. I have a song clip I did using the womanizer all direct and thought it turned out pretty good. I thought in general both these pedals were a step up from my other drive pedals at the time which consisted of a tonebone trimode and a TC od pedal

Sounds good. It is on my short list if my Nova Drive doesn't do it with my Vox modeling amp.

Thanks!

I have a Demonizer that I've used off and on as my practice setup, and it can sound good, but it requires a lot of tweaking- you really have to spend time with it to get it to sound good, or it can sound fizzy/scooped/ice-picky. I agree with audioholic as well in that it didn't have as much gain on tap as I thought it would, I had it at 3 o'clock or higher most of the time to get the chunk I was after and had to worry about feedback a lot because of this. Also for some reason the opto comp dial seems to affect the amount of gain available, as opposed to just the dynamic response which is kind of wierd

I initially got it because I thought it would be a good option to go direct for live shows and still get some of that tube sound, but the direct out is bypassed when the pedal is bypassed so it didn't work great in that respect, as I still had to use the JDI. It definitely sounds better through an amp than direct, although all things considered it does a pretty good job direct.

I'd assume that the Liquid Blues would be easier to dial in and be of the same great build quality, but my hunch is that it's a lot of pedal board space for what you'd be using it for and that you could probably get something smaller that would do the trick (especially if you have a glass nexus already)...I've been cruising ebay lately looking at the Blackstar HT pedals after everyone here on the board raved about the HT-5, but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet...not sure what else to suggest, haven't tried enough things out...sorry :dunno:

Cheers

Good to hear, thanks. I would be using this in front of Vox modelers (an amp, and maybe my tonelab) for tube warmth and more feel, so low gain and somewhat transparent (with the wet/dry mix). Still need to work with the Vox modeling amp (dial in, replacement speakers etc.) and try the Nova Drive first. The LB is on the short list, if the setup needs more warmth.
