My mother has Parkinson too. Can`t even remember when she was diagnosed, but must have been 10-15 years ago. Her symptoms have not gotten worse in all those years. All the best Mark!
That is really encouraging to hear, and great news for your mom, BadCat. Mark, you've always been a great guy/RT member. I wish you the same fortune in your fight.

Mark, based on your clips and videos it’s easy to hear and see that you are a hard and determined fighter. I know you’ll put as much effort into managing your symptoms as well.

Parkinson’s, Mark Day is about to give you an ass kicking! :gethim: :D

Dude...I was JUST thinking about you yesterday. I’ve been kicking around grabbing an Ax8, and wished you were still down the street to set that fucker up.

From the bottom of my heart man, I truly wish you the best.

Keep your spirits up, and keep playing!

Good luck with everything Mark. You're the reason I got into Suhr guitars and oddly enough I own your old Fireburst Suhr Modern! I

Damn Mark, hate to hear news like that, but I'm glad that it looks like you're taking care of it the best ya can...KEEP PLAYING and tone chasing...You're a great player and a great guy....every time I watched some of your vids through the years, I was like "damn, this guy has same music taste as me!" Been watching your vids/rig stuff since the HRI days(John01W here, hi man!). Some prayers and mojo sent your way man!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind thoughts! I was diagnosed in March after a few years of symptoms, thinking I was just getting older, pinched nerve, perhaps the neck on my Lifeson Les Paul was too wide, etc. So it was a bit of a shock to find out I have young onset Parkinson's. Really pissed me off that I got rid of my LP thinking it was the issue lol. Fuck.

My neurologist says it should progress slowly so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I started LevoDopa about 6 weeks ago and it's really helping. I was pretty discouraged a few months ago because my bending and vibrato was becoming a huge struggle and was getting worse. I almost feel normal now, except for a little tremor at times but much less than it was. You probably wouldn't even notice if you were with me, so I'm pretty excited.

I'm also in a self imposed state of denial, which helps a lot lol.

Anyway thanks so much for keeping me in your thoughts, it made my day, guys!!!

Mark

You've always been a good guy and a great player, Mark! I kinda fell off the whole forum grid, but drop by from time to time. I wish you all the best, and hope the medicine works as it should!

Cheers,
Knut E

Hey Mark, like everyone has said here, you are definitely in my prayers and hope whatever course of treatment you are on helps. I too have watched you for years and you're attitude and playing have never ceased to put a smile on my face.
