I've had nothing but good experiences buying & selling on this forum, but every transaction begins with a clear understanding of what the expectations are.
I've been on both sides of this- as a buyer anticipating delivery of something I couldn't wait to get my hands on and as a seller, lagging a day or two behind when I said I would ship. Communication is the key on any online transaction. Seems like it started on shaky ground from the start here. On both sides.
I also don't see how airing this publicly is doing much to help the situation.

I went public because this guy wont refund my money. It's not the first time this has been done here. How was it shaky ground on my end? I paid the money, he said he would ship the next day... So this guy should just go unchecked? Bullshit. The bottom line NOW is he still has my money.. Why the hell would that be ok?

I too have bought and sold a lot of items here without issue.. Until now. I stay in constant contact with buyers, I guess if I sell you something I don't need to worry about that? and I could just basically tell you to go to hell if you ask for a refund?

I am trying to protect other buyers by outing this guy. This is insane.

This is the fucked up part right here.....

"Just a little info since you're incapable of understanding reality; Not all of us sit on the computer all day and dream about the new toys we're going to buy, and then wait like a puppy for the UPS guy to arrive. Thankfully, some of us have lives, own and operate businesses, have health issues, and so on. Therefore, ALL internet deals for toys are SECONDARY. LIFE COMES FIRST."

Uh.....yeah, you need to get off your ass and pack the guys equipment you sold him. You decided it was time to list it for sale.

To the OP, you need rat the fucker out so nobody else will get in trouble with him.

LOL, if he's already complained to paypal then I'd guess he has nothing to loose by it. By outing the guys moniker it will either give others a warning here, or force the seller to come forward with his side of the story.
Add to that, sometimes it helps just to write down your frustrations, some may use a diary, some others use the interwez.

His side of the story is clearly documented above. This is NOT a diary or journal. This is a self policing forum. The only way to ensure we all play nice is to call out the ones who don't.

Like I said he has not responded since last week. And some of you guys think this is ok? I bet you would not be saying that if it was you being srcrewed with.

That alone made me want to end the deal... Not to mention it should be a HUGE warning to others!

Life happens my ass. You take the money, you ship as soon as possible. If life gets in the way, you refund the money. Selling stuff on the net since '95. The rule is you don't f*ck around with someone else's money.
Exactly!!! How the f*ck can any of you place one ounce of blame on the buyer??? If the seller says he's shipping the next day, the buyer has no reason to express the urgency on his end. If he did do that, people would probably jump on him for being overbearing.

Place the blame where it belongs...100% with the seller. Poor communication and a failure to deliver as promised...anything said/done by the buyer after that is completely irrelevant.
The only thing I will say is that now, even when a seller is clearly being rude and lazy, dragging their feet shipping me something, I continue to "kill 'em with kindness" until I've decided I need to take another level of action (PayPal dispute, etc.). They have my money and I have nothing, so I try to keep things civil from my end until there is a resolution or I've decided to take things to the next level.

When I have not done this in the past, things degraded quickly and it did not help the situation.

Seller is clearly in the wrong here, but I still think things could have been salvaged with my approach... Not knocking the buyer, I just take a different approach...

I feel for you, and I hope it all works out. However, nowhere do I see people in this thread saying that it's ok that he has not responded since last week.

Let's keep the Henning/Lord "tag team" going here on RT.

I agree with Steve. You know the old adage: "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar."

Always treat people with respect and professionalism in these situations up until you decide to file a claim. Most people don't react well to anger and threats, and it's not a great approach to take when the other party has both your cash and the item!

I really wanted to stay civil. I did not think by saying "you should have shipped when you said you would" and " I am close to asking for my money back" that it would have turned so ugly so quick..

Some sellers just have low standards and take posting ads for granted get the money fast and then take their time with the rest of the transaction thinking that's ok in their world.

I would rather know who these people are personally as I don't want to buy from those types fuck 'em.

No, all we have is your side of the story. How could it be his side, he has not posted? I'm not sayin' you're full of it, but your side may not agree with his side. You may win by default, but it's a bit early to call that.

Also, LOL, it's not a self policing forum although it is close. If we had no moderation at all, like on HCAF before GC and MF bought them out, then yes, you could say it's truly self policing.

Man you need to give your head a shake, my reading comp is perfect, and my law degree is close at hand. I in no way said what he did is OK. Really kid, there is always at least two sides to any story.

Tell ya what, I think you're pissed and seem to be taking it out on anyone. Take a step back dude, I am not your friend or your enemy. I am just someone a lot older than you and maybe wiser in my area of expertise, but definately someone with lots of experience in business and in law.

Yep ^

I agree 100% with Steve. While the seller definitely *IS* in the wrong here, your communication style very likely exacerbated the situation, honestly. Shipping a couple days later than someone said they would is definitely inconvenient but in the grand scheme of how wrong deals on the net can actually go, it's almost irrelevant, honestly. If you want instant gratification you should probably stick to brick and mortar places that have set return policies, etc. Again, I agree the seller is at fault but you definitely come off as impatient...

The old adage treat others the way you want to be treated goes a long way in most scenarios

Agreed.

If you say you are going to do something, do it. If something comes up, take the time to notify the other party. 99.9% they will understand and appreciate the communication. Why should he have to chase you down to figure out what is going on. Had the seller just let the guy know what was happening without having to be asked, the buyer probably wouldn't have worried about being screwed by this guy.

Also, another reason to never pay with paypal gift. Always use a credit card if you aren't 110% certain about the guy selling the item.

You payed by Gift. Not good. He has your balls. I don't hink this thread will help. He can screw you with zero recourse.

I'm with the buyer on this one. Anytime I've ever sold anything, I make sure to get the item out same day or next day when I get paid. It's the right thing to do. If I can't, I make sure the buyer knows exactly when I will ship. If there's an issue, I'll either refund the money or make sure it gets to them someway, somehow.

While the seller definitely *IS* in the wrong here
So by hearing one side of the story you determine who is right and who is wrong?
Given the facts,
A, The seller has not posted.
B, Brad has not confirmed PMs are 100% accurate
C, Paypal has not refunded anything, yet.

Again, not sayin' nothin' 'cept we only have one side of the story.
Sure we can all make our own call, and that's OK. But rarely is any real trial decided on with only one side of the story or by excluding all the facts.
All we really have is hearsay, as in: 'I said this', 'he said that.'
Now if points A, B, or C change then it would be different.
And that's just the way it is, maybe not online, but in the real world.

This is not the first time this has happened with this seller,if you list something for sale and say you are gonna ship the next day.......DO IT nothing more nothing less!!!!!
