Listening to clips on YouTube etc...(I know, terrible way to judge)...but man, I think the Street Rod sounds kickass. Almost a bit more saturation and tameness on the top end. Plenty of gain though! Plus, there's a head on eBay right now......been watching it. Switchable down to 20watts

Bingo. Was gonna suggest it. Go for it. Sitting at $887 shipped with 3:45 left...save s huge over buying a new 50w QR.

Talked w Splawn today, they suggest a 50 watt QR. They say the SS and SR sound different.

This was partly my point.
The others sound different from the QR.
If you're OK with that, cool...just trying to help a brother out.
I suppose you can tell I like my QR's

Found a Street Rod combo :) Unfortunately it's in the boa snakeskin finish, but w/e :) Also came with a flight case.

Chicago Music Exchange. $1,250 shipped w/ATA Flight Case. Not bad.

I got a new Pro Stock B+ 6 weeks ago. I gig hard rock. Splawn recommended the PS over the Compy and SR. when I first got it, I was worried: it is loud at 9:00. Then I spent a few weeks with it and now I love it! The Loop Volume does work very well!! The loop volume won't get the power tube saturation going as much, but the Splawns have more than enough gain for metal. You don't need a boost for all kinds of metal, but you might like boost for variety. The on board boost works well (OD1/2) and it adds a touch of boost, but not a ton; however, you don't it. It's Marshall metal and then some. I get great Tool and AIC tones out of mine.

Mine was a little noisy at first, but it settled after a few hours of play. They are pretty quiet amps.

I don't use clean channels. All my tube amps clean up well with the guitar volume, so I would give the 50w QR or Compy a look. But I have no regrets going with the PS, and I too was worried about these amps sweet spot being too loud. I gig, so it's really great.

If I was more of bedroom player, I'd look at something in the 50w range for Splawn.

I'll give a full review, with clips hopefully, next weekend.

I had a 2010 QR and ended up getting a 2012 SR for gigging...fell in Love with the SR sounded better! traded the QR for other GAS! I did however convert the SR into a Headshell with a matching Splawn 1x12 cab its a Fantastick lil rig that sounds Hugh! Good luck wiyh yours!!

What did you like better about your Streetrod vs Quickrod?

For me saturation and feel of the 2012 SR was much better than that of the 2010 QR had them both side by side for over a year before making the decision. No regrets the SR performs great in any venue

2012 and later Quick Rods are different then 2010 also. Different trannys and more gain/saturation. I had a 2007 and have a 2012 and they are night and day in the gain dept.

Get a Quick Rod or better yet a Pro Mod. Price should be close.

Got the Street Rod combo in today. Sounds phenomenal at low volumes! It's so different than jamming on my Kemper. No better or worse, I guess it's been a while since I've had a real amp. Going to throw a 57 on it tomorrow and post some clips.

Kick ass man! I'm excited for you!

Between my Quick Rod rig and Kemper, there's nothing I need musically.
