Hi guys:

I own a Memory Lane Jr and a Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay (650 mms perf board) Yes, that one, the real thing.

Now, i have a few friends that swear by the Strymon Timeline.
What can you guys tell me, if i sell my delays i can buy the Strymon, but is it really all that much?

Anyone selling one?

TY

Huge fan of the Timeline as well. Great sounding delays from standard to wierd and a fantastic looper to boot. A midi controller is required to get the most out of it though, the DMC line by Disaster Area is the smallest controller I've found with a HUGE amount of custom options and control.

so, would you guys sell your MMLjr and DBD?
I have too many pedals as it is

I haven't tried the strymon I think the thing is it is so tweak able. Having said that the memory lane jr gets just as much love over at the gear page and those guys know their delays. I personally like my Tc delays but it's all taste.

ok, i will just buy the thing and then if i do not need the others i will sell them.

If you are happy with your delays then why switch to Strymon just because friends are using them. Key thing is if you are familiar with the delays you have, you might have a small learning curve with the Strymon.

If you can do that and compare them I think it is the smartest way to go. Would suck to sell of what you have to realize you might not be as happy. Costly mistake

I am with this comment. Every time I have purchased a new delay it took me time to work with it. I tried the strymon, I liked it but didn't end up buying one. I find getting to know new gear fun though so who knows.

The last delay I had that I liked was the TC2290....part of me want to get one again :aww: Haven't found a pedal delay I like yet. Strymon delay, El Capistan and Timeline are next

The 2290 W/D/W is to die for

Have you seen the new Pigtronix Echolution 2? My favourite simple delay is the Providence Chrono. Expensive but sounds superb.

Cheers Rich

I have owned a strymon Timeline 2 for years and just downloaded the owners manual.
It sounds great but for me there is so much tweaking more stuff then I will ever use .
I am more of a plug it in and play kinda guy .
But I like quality tone !

I regret selling the Providence Chrono BIG time!!

Demo'd the hell out of the Timeline. I ended up preferring the Eventide Timefactor. To me the Timefactor just has sounds far closer to what I was looking for in terms of the actual coloration. It's very, very clean.

the Memory Lane Jr. is a phenomenal delay. I've been thru them ALL and it's what i have on my board. BUT the Timeline is king. I loved that pedal to death. It was just overkill for what im doing now. Miss it but don't need it.

You can't get caught up in hype, whether it's legit or not, or you'll never settle on a rig. Ask yourself "What do I need in a delay pedal that my current delays don't do?". If you don't have an answer to that, pass on adding the pedal.

Don't limit your choice to a digital delay. Strymon stuff is great for sure but the El Capistan is awesome too and you might love it. The price is a bit friendlier as well at $300 new.
