I think I'm gassing for a TGP3 preamp or a TGA 2 or 3 inverter head.

I know Dean DeLeo uses the preamp with a vhT 2100.

Has anybody here owned/used/tried a Demeter?

is it awesome?

Demeter is a one cool cat. I never owned any of his stuff, but got to try a bunch of his pedals.

I have never tried any of his amps... I knew the guitarist in this Orange County indy band called "Standing Hawthorne" and he got some really great tone from his Demeter amp.

I own the one on eBay. This amp I own was a custom TGA2 because it has independent EQ's for the Clean and Dirty channels. It's basically a Fender Bassman/Twin on the clean channel. The 2nd channel takes you from JTM45 Plexi up to a hard rocking kind of tone ala STP. The 3rd channel is basically like STP's harder stuff...think "Down", "Dumb Love", "Sex Type Thing".

My amp also has a Demeter to Marshall switch on the back that takes the extreme roundness of the Demeter tone out of the lows and mids and slims it up to the Marshall tone. It also has a slope resistor switch, which lets the amp behave more like a Fender or a Marshall. All 3 channels are footswitchable with the Dirty channels sharing the EQ and Gain controls. It has a Global presence knob.

They're great amps for what they're able to do. I really don't want to sell this thing, but I'm trying to slim down everything I have because I don't play a whole lot any longer.

If you think a HUGE Marshall tone is awesome, you will love Demeter amps.
