I love King as well.... but for me, it was Andy and Mike Wead that were just the sickest one two punch in metal for the longest time. Wead has some serious chops, phrasing, and melody. Damn those two brought the thunder. Not sure who is in the line up these days, kind of got old for me in the last 5 years.

jammed this one for quite a bit his afternoon \m/

Seems DBTO gets alot of love but i think Melissa kils it. Imo Sherman/Denner or Laroque/Blakk kill Tipton/Downing and Murray/Smith. I hope KDs health improves. Ive never seen him live. Just bootleg DVDs.

Love all the KD duos :D

L'amour (Brooklyn), "Them" tour was my first real KD exposure. I got talked into going by a friend of mine, and then sat at the bar.. until They got partway into the first song, and then I tried to get as close as I could without getting trampled to death. LaRoque Grabbed Abigail, Them and Fate's DBTO the next day. Huge fan ever since.

Wow, that is crazy. I was just listening to Melissa on Sunday. Prior to that, I have not listened for about 4 years. I love King Diamond. I hope his health is improving so he can get back out.

Hank Shermann is the riff king. Mercyful Fate and King Diamond both jam so many riffs into one song its insane.
I love Denner's more conventional soloing and Hank's wild solos mixed.

I love the solo trading at the end of Evil

i was lucky enough to see them back in the early 80's, opening up for Motorhead. I thought Hank Sherman looked so cool, because the entire band and stage was black, and he was wearing a white shirt and white pants. Show was good, but KD could be a bit campy at times.

Hey Misterbulbous

Are you in socal? Saw the fate open for motorhead (november 1984) at the hollywood palladium.

Man, they were on top of their game. Couldn't believe that they broke up so soon after that.

Still love the first 3 (ep, melissa and don't break the oath). Great band.

I have been listening to Them and Abigail non stop for the past week !

Killer riffs and tasty solos !!!! My Favorite King Diamond material by far !
