Despite my feelings about Charvels - I want this!

I'm brand conscious - I love Charvels. I don't really care where they're made. I had at least a half dozen of the '09-ish USAs, and they were nice guitars, but "consistent" is not a word I'd use for them. Same can be said for the Mexis. I don't really care where a guitar is made these days. The hardware is usually similar when you get into the $1000+ price range. The neck construction has the classic feel - for the most part. RR bought one of my WDM Charvels - probably the best one I've owned, but again, they varied. Even having owned at least 6 USA WDM Charvels, after the one RR bought from me, the best I've had since was a white USA Pro Mod DS Style 1. I've had Mexis that rival the custom shop models. I guess I try to take each axe for what it is - regardless of the place it came from. Sacrilege, I know.

Dude, I'm so pissed at myself for getting rid of that one. I actually traded a guy for a Les Paul. I still have my LP and it is one of my go to guitars now but still, I should have kept that "Blood and Skulls". Not sure if I told you but picked up a WDM "Frenchie" in black and that one kills as well! All of the WDM ones are probably pretty consistent across the board. Eventually it would be cool to get the "Crossed Swords" one. That one was the guitar I connected the most to when I was a kid and saw Warren holding that guitar in magazines.

My MIJ is leaps and bounds better than the MIM and picked it up for less than this one. There are plenty out there and would love to find a T body MIJ or USA. Though the Ash MIM's are pretty sick...

The MIJ one's are about as good as the USA models IMHO.

Agreed. Very close, if not identical. Just the tinted yellowish neck and no pup mounting rings are the only real differences. I love Charvel necks regardless of where they are made....but I've had 2 USAs that play/sound better than some custom shop offerings. For the same money, the used USA would always be my choice over any MiM guitar. As would the MiJ Charvel. As long as they are clean.

That is interesting. Maybe I should take another look at the MIJ ones. With that said, if I can get a great deal on a USA one, I'll always go that route just for investments sake, etc. I only have the WDM "Frenchie" right now, but you can never have too many Charvels IMO. :)

Investment/resale is definitely a good reason to go USA.

All the MiM charvel San Dimas that i have try and Own on thw past few years are amazing so far

Yea, I don't get all the Mexican Charvel hate. I bought a practically new Mexican San dimas for $500. After a setup, it plays, sounds, and looks great...
