I have a number of 'custom' guitar shops saved on Reverb because they always post such odd things.

Try this yourself and see what kind of odd ball 'custom' guitars and builders' you come across. Faceook marketplace has em too.

I saw this come up on my feed and let out a laugh. Yeah man, I get it, you spent a lot of time on a random cheap chinese kit neck, found and cut a random piece of old furntiture or wood, and glued em up together. I will probably do the same crap when I am older and retired but hopefully I won't try to charge $2400 for it.

I also do not get why I keep seeing these same types of builders say 'custom' and 'top of the line components' and then shove Guyker on there, etc. Who buys this stuff?? This isn't the most egregious example, but it is a good one:

Here are some more idiotic examples.
Yep - you put together a random partscaster with probably a Fake Fender neck and say you are a 'builder'? The ego of some people.

No, I do not consider you to be a builder if you buy random parts off of ebay to resell on Reverb.

Look guys, this one with the Guitar fetish $99 body and rando ebay neck is only $1300. Don't worry, top end Chinese solderless components included in that pricing.

LOL! Looks like he cut apart his parent's nightstand and built a guitar. His soldering chops are worse than mine.

He probably has a $20 Amazon soldering iron because "It works fine and gets the job done." A real Iron makes your work so much easier and cleaner looking - you also get proper solders that last.

The top guitar has a crooked neck pickup rout, and I don't think it was intentional. It's like he tried to copy some PRS-esque edge routs with a handheld router, LOL. And of course he had to make it a bolt on.....

I love the dumb ass shit you posted first. I actually hate that guitar, but I love stupid shit like that. It reminds me a lot of Harvester builds. I've posted mine before, it's Formica. The builder has done other weird reclaimed/recycled builds as well.

The other two definitely fall under the umbrella of: these-are-kitted-out-kits but sometimes I find it a bit hard to discern a good quality build and someone who took a kit and made it pretty.
