Does anyone have a diamond amp? I'm curious to see what people think. They sound great online. To me they sound alot like boogie duel rectifiers.

i thought the nitrox sounded great in clips that ive heard, when i seen five finger ,zolton was using one and he had a great live sound, i know he boosts his with an original tube screamer

I have never heard a diamond in person that I liked. The last time I heard them was last summer on a Sevendust stage and I was apalled at the buzzy sounds they were getting.

I heard a couple at a Studio with Lynn Burk of BCM.

They were okay, had that upper mid thing going on. Figure if miT from 311 is diggin' em, something cool is in potential.

I played the nitro a while back and was very disappointed. The saturation didn't seem authentic.

Saw Kerri Kelly play them with Alice Cooper last year and they sounded great...never plugged into one myself though.

I owned a first version spec op and the Diamond guys were willing to upgrade it to the current spec, but it sounded so awful and had no feeling to it what so ever I just sold it off.

The customer service is great but the amps sound like a can of bees.

I've seen a few bands here in Houston (where Diamond is located) playing some of the more "classic" sounding models. I thought they sounded great.

I've tried most on Diamonds amps and if you're looking for a good metal amp they fit the bill beautifully. For me they're just too harsh and don't really do much else than metal well.

I have a Spitfire II. I fell in love with its crystal clear cleans the first time I heard it. I use it for
80s and 90s alternate and hard rock. The distortion is pretty good. I like to use the third channel as a solo boost.

I owned a Diamond Phantom for a while. Great clean channel and the gain channel was pretty good too. I found that I needed to tighten up the gain with an OD as a boost to get really tight metal tones though. Well built and as mentioned, great customer service. I sold it to buy an Axe Fx which was a mistake. I wouldn't mind owning one again someday.

i got a nitrox in trade off this forum. liked it at first, but traded it off for another pittbull. the diamond was o.k, but i had too many other amps i thought smoked it.

How heavy does the spitfire 2 get? I saw Godsmack a couple weeks ago they were running diamond amps now. It sounded killer.

The Spitfire II is Diamond's lower gain amp. It can get to classic Slayer gain territory but was made for 70s and 80s hard rock I think. That might be why I like it compared to those who don't like the higher gain models.

I may trade my Mesa royal Atlantic for a diamond. No spec op played it didn't like it. I used to own a phantom n nitrox both were excellent. Anyone try hammer smith or heretic?

I have a Diamond Phantom and it kills. It's their british flavor amp. Loved it so much we just re-amped all of my tracks again for our upcoming disc.
