Im all about candidates who wont legislate morality and will focus on things like economy, foreign policy and healthcare.

Yeah all those idiots in the past who legislated morality with all those pesky laws about how its wrong to steal, murder, rape, drink and drive, molest kids, etc etc. Man those old guys on their moral high horse would take all the fun out of those guy's day who would plan on breaking into your home and steal your shit. :jerkit:

NO! Was the jist: Reparations for everyone and down with Whitey?

J/K: Every politician has to kiss the asses of their respective party, campaign/party contributers, lobbyists, etc....The best laid political plans are always laid to waste through: vetoes, add-ons, delays, committees, etc...Nothing ever gets done that hasn't been watered down with some funds leading someplace other than where they belong

I do like the fact that America seems to be moving in the direction of having an American race....not black, not white, not brown....American.

Ron Paul is the answer, which sadly, American Id(i)o(t)l fans couldn't relate to.

Agreed. I listened to him and he made alot of sense to me...

Mccain is old and out of touch. Obama could either be really good or really bad. To be honest, Id really like to see a candidate whose not a Christian. That would make my fucking day.

I'd like to see a candidate that worships the devil.

There you go showing your great debating skills. Lets debate Obama's Socialistic health care policy, or his policy to extract from Iraq unless it gets bad again then put them back in philosophy. Pick a topic. Oh wait, we only want a candidate who is not a Christian, at least that is what you posted,.
First of all, I engaged you first and you came back with that half ass comment.

Second, a non-christian candidate is not my only concern, although I said it would be nice to see one because thats all we've ever had. And more often than not, the christian morality nazis let it dictate their politics (gay marraige, abortion, hell even foreign relations).

then you said you do care about the policies, which is it

Awesome use of circular reasoning.

Face it, you got butt hurt over my comment because you're a Christian and those are the type of candidates you support.

Yes that will really be a huge factor in important things, such as our economy, foreign policy, etc..... I hope we get somebody who is not a Christian, maybe a Muslim that has African roots that is what we need, color and religion is what will make America great again. Oh wait maybe understanding the parties platform and their plans for change would help too...... No, lets just vote against the Christians that is it.

Cool - looks like you understand completely!

That is a pretty HUGE overgeneralization of what it means to legislate morality. The things you mentioned can all be covered by one rule - don't do things that will hurt someone else. The real issues of legislating morality have to do with why drugs, prostitution, gay marriage, etc are illegal. These are purely morality issues. There is no reason these things should be illegal...

No Steve I really do not, I am just searching daily to understand and make the best decision. It is just comments like Telephant made that makes no sense to me. There are positives and negatives to both candidates and both parties and like it has been said elsewhere in this posting from others you basically choose the lesser of the 2 evils. But to decide based on somebody's religion is just immature and well...... STUPID.

Telephant you can call me a Tool all day long, it makes as much sense as everything else you say.

I will not comment on gay marriage but I think it is pretty obvious that drugs and prostitution can hurt others as well as the ones involved.

I have to disagree that religion is not an important factor. For me it is. I just happen to prefer leaders that do not believe in imaginary superheros. Unfortunately, I am rarely presented with the opportunity to vote for someone who doesn't have blind faith in fairy tales created by men. I think that is all that was being said. All thing being equal, I'd choose an atheist... someone who would be practical about abortion, drugs, prostitution, gay marriage, stem cell research and all the other supposedly "morally wrong" things

So stealing, raping, and all the things I mentioned are not immoral acts? So as long as it doenst hurt someone else huh? Tell the kids of a crack head or a heroin addict that their parents addiction isnt really hurting them. Tell a wife a husband who gets a prostitute that her husbands action isnt hurting her. Tell the mom or dad of the prostitute that their daughter's actions arent hurting them. The gay marriage thing... to be honest I could care less one way or the other. But your assertion that stealing doesnt have anything to do with morality and a heroin user is ok makes no sense to me. My point with all that is this.... you have to have laws based on a moral code whether you like it or not other wise who have laws based on cose that is realtive and trust me you dont want that. Also like it or not our founding fathers based many of the laws we have on biblical morality.

I never said it was not an important factor I said to decide on this alone or make comments like Telephant said are immature and stupid. I am the opposite of you I would prefer the country founded on In God We Trust stay away from being led by atheist, you can go to a communist or socialist country for that. However I see a lot of individuals that would like to make America into such a country! I agree with the USA being a free country and knowing of these Atheist makes me want to keep the right to bear arms. :D

You contradict yourself in this post. And where did I say someones religion affiliation dictated my choice in candidate? I didnt. In fact I made it pretty clear that it didnt. :aww:

Atheist makes me want to keep the right to bear arms.

And my comments are immature? Hypocrisy FTL.
