Yes you can - as an accountant I can tell you the answer is basic you raise revenue or reduce expenses to balance a budget. It can be one or the other or both. You can also run deficit if you want to take on debt - although that's going to catch up to you eventually like you are discovering.

You can try to spin it with accounting rhetoric, but you can't have it both ways. You can either support Ukraine and give them money to fund the war or not. Anything else is just nonsensical virtue signaling.

So which it? Do you support your country sending your tax dollars to Ukraine. Or are you full of crap and not willing to send your money to support the efforts?

It's not accounting rhetoric. It's true in every budget from personal budgets to the largest corporations and government. There are only two levers to balance a budget. Raise revenue and/or reduce expenses. That's because Revenue - Expenses = Profit/(Loss). So you can either raise revenue/cut expenses or use a combination of both.

Yes we contributed to the war in Ukraine. Of course I support it. We are even talking about sending troops in a peace keeping capacity. We sent lots of equipment there as well. We don't expect anything back. Just like we supported Europe in both world wars and didn't expect anything back unlike the US who bankrupted Britain during WW2. So even then the US decided to join the fight but charged its own allies. Fuck the US. Fuck them regarding Canada too. Fuck them regarding tariffs on us as well. The US is the never finish anything country. Backs out of everything it gets involved with like a pathetic no hoper that never finishes his personal projects. Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan you name it - stupid bastards. Stay out of world politics if you don't have the stomach for sticking at things - perpetual losers in nearly all conflicts and ignorant insular wankers. Maybe stick to what you are good at. Providing filthy degenerate woke TV and movie content that stuffs degenerate people in the head and wrecks western society.

Well the spirit of the original question wasn't in regard to accounting. It was about you paying more in taxes (or whatever Australia call it) to send that money to support Ukraine.

Australia contributed, but comparatively not that much. Granted this chart (see below) is a bit out of date, but I'd suspect is still relatively accurate. Australia has given less than freaking Portugal. So Australia is talking about sending troops.... How many, 15 people? "Peace keeping" isn't shit. Is Australia actually going to do something to push Russia back? Or are they just going to send a few troops to pretend they're are joining the resistance? Kinda like the drunk guy at the bar telling his friends to "hold me back" so he doesn't actually have to fight.

Don't get me wrong, I support neither side as I view both Russia and Ukraine as being in the wrong. Ukraine shouldn't have been screwing around with talks about wanting to join NATO and is corrupt as all get out. Russia should have worked harder for a diplomatic solution instead of taking advantage of the situation to invade Ukraine.

What I'm doing is calling out your BS. You can't sit there and grandstand for support of Ukraine without putting your money where your mouth is. If you're willing to put your personal money and/or life to support Ukraine then so be it; I'll respect your position. But don't sit there and armchair virtue signal.

I for one do not support the USA funding any wars or ending soldiers that do not directly affect our national security. We need to take care of our own problems first before we think about dealing with the problems of the rest of the world who apparently hate us to begin with. We've been playing world police with the entire world demanding it from us and at the same time condemning us for doing so. That shit needs to stop and from what I see Trump is at the beginning stages of doing just that.

You stupid Americans always try and make Countries equal like Australia is the size of the US. Countries are not equal. It needs to be by population to be meaningful. Like during the Olympics we win more medals per capita than you do but you try and say you won the Olympics like you are somehow better. Yes I don't give a shit about the Olympics but just illustrating a point.

I'll contribute what every one else contributes i.e. via my taxes. However if Canada wants to actually fight I'd consider a temporary relocation to help their war effort.

They'd be somewhat meaningless unless they subtract what you are trying to claw back from the Ukraine via taking their resources. Same as what you contributed to WW2 by taking all the UK's resources.
