I recall seeing boogie stacks in the Decadance Dance video .
I had always thought of him as a Marshall guy BUT a lot of the clips of the new Mark V ,really have that super tight precussive pick thing that I associate with Nuno on Pornografiti

I know he used the ADA's a lot, not sure what else....not a bunch of help there, huh?

Supposedly he was known for saying he played one thing, then using something else. He said once in a magazine that he used ADA MP1's, but i saw them twice and i didn't see an ADA in a rack he had, i couldn't actually tell what he was using.

Their first album he claimed he used 50 watt Marshalls, and it does sound like it. On Porno it doesn't sound like a Marshall to me. There's a real grind to his tone on that album. I'd believe it if you told me it was an ADA or a Boogie.

I recall an article with Michael Wagener where he said Nuno used an ADA MP1 and a crown power amp for Porno.

Saw em play on the III sides tour, and Nuno had MP1s in a rack.

I was always curious about his sound during the punch line tour.

From what I remember from magazine's and have learned from other interviews

Extreme = Marshall + Rat pedal
Pornographiti = ADA MP1 + McIntosh Power Amp

III Sides = Gallien-Krueger 250 ML Mark II for solos and a Soldano (I think it was a hotrod) rhythm
Waiting for the Punchline = Fender VibroKing

Read the same thing somewhere...

Seems like it was Marshalls w/ Peavey Scorpion speakers for the first album...
ADA MP-1 for the Porno...possibly some Mesa...
ADA MP-1 and Soldano for III sides...never read the GK stuff but I loved the old GK preamp, again who knows...
Fender Vibroverb for Waiting...

Live rig was mainly ADA's w/old Ampeg 4x12's with greenbacks. To me alot of his tone was the gain dialed back a hair and the Lawrence Pup. I've never heard much Boogie in his tone but then again who really knows...classic example of a guy who knows how to get good tone regardless of what he uses which raises the old "tone" is in the fingers debate.

The boogies were the bass player's? He is/was a known boogie user. All of the live footage I've seen of them he's got a couple of stacks of boogie cabs behind him.

I remember he also did say he used a Fender combo in some spots on Porno, like the Little Jack Horny solo. And it sounds like the rest of the album.

Lets not forget about the mini Marshall headphone amp that was used on the "Stop the World" solo. :)

Pornograffiti was:

Furman PQ-3 -> ADA MP1 -> McIntosh 2100 power amp -> Marshall G12h30 loaded 4x12.

Fostex ribbon mic (among others that I don't know) into a John Hardy M1.

Once again.... Furman PQ-3 responsible for killer tones!!

I would never be without mine
