Did something change at sweetwater?

I haven’t bought from them in a long time and randomly had a rep reach out recently too.

They’ve treated me well and I personally don’t have any complaints.

I rarely buy from Sweetwater these days; I had a great rep for at least 10 years, he was promoted to management about 5 years ago; his replacement is fine but he's not as aggressive nor does he know what interests me.

If I buy new, I usually buy from MF; been working with the same sales rep there for over 10 years, and it's worked out great. When I buy new, I want it from their warehouse in the factory sealed box not from the floor display at a nearby GC...that happened once long ago, and I got a deep discount, and my rep always looks up the gear and makes sure it's from their warehouse or if it's not, tells me when they expect to get more in from the manufacturer, and lets me know when what I want is in stock, etc.

What is "Indiana "cosco" warehouse of gear thats not selling in a depression" for $500 Alex.

Most Sweetwater dudes are pretty cool Midwest musicians, I recently talked to one doing an order for awhile, turns out we knew some of the same guys back in the day in a few studios.

... Looks like their shills have arrived.

I used to teach customer service and sales techniques. I know when those things are done right. Sweetwater gets it right. I'm no shill. I'm a very satisified customer. Musician's Friend, on the other hand told me that they had what I needed in stock. When it didn't arrive, I called them and they said "That's out of stock and we're waiting for more to come in". That's the first and only time I've dealt with MF, and that's the reason I tried Sweetwater.

What's interesting to me about sweetwater is that they have a tremendous advertising campaign throughout the year as well as promote their "sales engineers" but, they don't answer the phone when I call?

My validation stance in regard to this? I spend between 20-50K annually on gear...every year for my studio. and sweetwater is no longer a choice for me because they no longer answer the phone. - I guess their relying on the website? eh...no thanks. was just curious as to what otherers were experiencing. appreciate the feedback guys (y)

Oh! have a couple new 4x12's coming in this month so I'll post when I'm done putting them together. Mojotone Grand canyon with swamp thangs and a KSR with FANE F90's \m/

Also, you have to haggle to get the same price others advertise.

Like I said, there are many others to buy from.

I’m actually keeping my Sweetwater rep busy. I got a couple of goodies coming😄

My guy is Tim Holsinger. Known him since he was a kid. He’s the only person that would deal with there

Rumor has it they’re getting the candy from a new supplier. That might account for the change
I was told all the Sales Engineers have to go out on Halloween to restock the SW candy supply.
