Hey - what Diezel 4x12 cabinet is everyone using?

Front loaded
or
Rear Loaded

Frontloaded with both V30 & G12K100 Dillingen made here! Best cab I have ever heard with the VH4

Rear loaded - much more flexible and more options for various tones. And with the Herbert you can achieve it all.

Front mounted speakers have removable grills (exposed mounting rings) and sealed cabinet backs

I can't work out that rear loaded picture?!

EDIT: Nevermind!
If you look closely, you'll notice that it's front loaded, but turned around backwards. So if you look very close you'll notice that the V30's mounted up-side-down. The other two speakers are universal and androgynous. So you see (if you look really close) the cab technically is rear loaded and on some nights or days it is front mounted up-side-down loaded and a stereo 8Ω cab. Think of a wheel barrel on a axle.

Frontloaded of the new cabs.
Compared my fontloaded Diezel with G12K100´s against the Mesa Stiletto rearloaded with V30`s yesterday. Once you´ve played the 100´s you won´t go back to V30´s. The 100`s are so clean and focused against the 30´s. Love them!

anyone done any comparisons with mesa 4x12 oversized cabs?
what are the main differences between the Diezel cabs and the mesa cabs?

I own mesa cabs at the mo- are the diezel cabs as much better than the mesa cabs as the heads are?!
thanks for your time guys

Yeah I had the Mesa oversized before I bought my Diezel. I used to loooove everything Mesa, you know? But when I compared my Mesa cab to a no-name cab with celestion gt75´s I was in total shock! My mesa sounded like crap...I sold it the week after and bought the new Diezel cab....never looked back :D

From the other cabinet thread.

Hope this helps

The NEW Diezel cabs are not comparable to any other cabinet I have played in 24 years of playing. I have played many a cabinet the new cabs are significantly superior to anything else out there and I have tried them all. I own a lot of gear so my opinions are (at least to me and my ears) based on comparison between what I own and so forth. Mesa cabs are lacking a present aspect. Stand next to the cab and you will hear and feel what I am talking about. The sound will seem to be coming from behind the cab about a foot and a half. I tune standard 98% of the time and if you do some real quick chug, the Mesa cabinet completely falls apart. Some people can work with mesa cabs or any other cab for that matter and get decent tone and are happy. That is ok. I am talking on a professional level, a level that optimizes the full dynamics of any Diezel amp. I assure you that when you plug from the mesa into the Diezel you will hear things the Mesa cab was not able to provide. The Diezel cabs are much more dynamic and they stay tight and together. The sound is crisp, articulate and they project wonderfully and are always balanced....no matter the tuning, guitar type, music type.......they stay together impeccably. In addition to all these, there is a bloom and overall ease and feel to them that I have not found in any other cab. What we have done is made a very very good cab and I am not afraid to admit that because it is the truth and because it really is that good. I plug other kinds of amp into them and the result is the same. I am really happy about these cabinets......dare I say.............because they work and bring to the ear what the amp and player are doing in a pure way.

Now to get it even more complicated - which one do you guys, think is better for recording?

The one that will let a mic get abut 1" from the speaker grille - Diezel!

 Sounds obvious, isn't it? Did it this way for the last 10 years, nothing wrong with it so far :)
Now, I am few clicks away from getting a rear loaded 4x12", V30 x G12K for my Einy. I knew that I have to bite the bullet, anyway.

EDIT: Posted the e-mail to Peter S. :)

are there the new 2x12 cabs too? what about speakers configurations? the FL i see from the site are 2 V30.

how would a V30 and a G12K100 mix sound ?

Just one word: AWESOME :D I have this combination in my 4x12 Diezel frontloaded cab. A very balanced, defined and punchy sound. Kicks major ass!

Nope, those are the hempcones in an open back cab. Really nice rock cab but nothing to do metal with.

The cab I got is the black one in the middle. In Video 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLU2AyVlcsI
you can hear the V30 in first place and after 40s the G12K100. I think there is no clip of both at the same time and I wouldn't judge it by the poor audio quality and my sloppy hangover playing :D
But you get in impression of how different both speakers sound and how well the compliment each other. One with the strong mids and scream and the other one with the ultra tight low end and neutral definition and clarity.

d'oh!! :D i like that sound too, you know :P
so on the video 2 G12K100 are on the last cabinet tested, from 1:30 am i right?
  your playing is not sloppy!
