Thought I would get a D-moll, but as time goes by without having ordered it yet. I start to spend more time I looking at the friends Herbert or Hagen, Hagen is about €200 more expensive then Herbert but seem to be more flexible and versatile, I really like the Powermetal sound that so many seems to hate =), and some times like do go darker/harder and wonder if that would not point me in the direction of the Hagen

Hagen really is a pretty awesome amp. I, for the most part, prefer it over the VH4. The Herbert probably still is my favorite amp of all time, but some of that has to do with that it was my first Diezel, and the amp that blew me away more than anything else ever. For me, other amps were like Hondas, and the Herbert was like getting a Lambo for the first time.

I have a 2005 VH-4 at the studio and it's a great sounding amp.
Still want to get a Herbert, but don't know if the amp packed would exceed the maximum weight allowed by the airlines(32 kg / 70 pounds).
If it weights over that, I'll have to wait 'till I find one here in Brazil.
VH-4 or Herbert? Love them both!!!

This is exactly my thought. I have both Hagen and Herbert, and while I love each in it's own way, there's nothing like your first moments with HERBERT...OMG!!!
I just dig everything about Herbert...

DIEZEL RULZ

wrong pickups for high gain tone. Hell, wrong guitar. Those tiny frets! They all sound boxy. Probably just the room. Meh
BTW Ola Englund does better demos of these amps.

There's a high gain shootout on here somewhere recently that illustrates how similar all of these high amps sound. No magic here. The evh was the best sounding of those amps.

Yea right, that shootout was highly suspect.
Get the real thing then call me.

Btw I have both the EVh (Stealth) and the Vh4, and the Diezel destroys it.

What's "Highly suspect" about the shootout?

I guess it was suspect because the most expensive amp didn't sound the best. I had a "real" one. Wasn't for me. Too thud like. It sounded just like those clips, minus the boxy room mic.

I bought this after selling the Deizel. It works better FOR ME. Maybe not you and that's ok. Cheers
