Diezel Lil' Fokker Discontinued?

Just checked out Diezel's new site and saw two new amps for 2017 listed, but not Fokker. Too bad because it was a badass amp. I just wish they made it a little smaller because it's a monster head.

Lol, the customer is not easy to please. For me, The Dmoll, Paul, Big max, all look funny with that small head shell. I didn't dig the "plexi" look on the Fokker either.

But yes, the Fokker is no longer in production. It was not a popular amp and supposedly didn't sell well. It's being replaced byt the VH2, which is what more customers wanted from a more stripped down 2ch 100w Diezel head. A cheaper and simpler version of the flagship VH4.

I think it's going to be 2499.99 but not positive. Same price as the Fokker.

Fokker had a different transformer, maybe even hagen tranny. The vh2 has a new transformer that is identical or similar to the vh4. Supposed to be the missing link.

Yeah, the Fokker was pretty different than the VH4. I love the VH4, but the Fokker didn't do much for me.

Just for the record: no member who owned vh4 and fokker at the same time thought fokker sucked. Correct me if I am wrong...
BTW As a fokker owner I'm strongly biased myself.

You're reading way too much into my comment. I was just getting at the comment about the likelihood that the VH2 would be a little Fokker when the VH2 is touted as stemming from the VH4 and the VH4 and Fokker sound so different. I found the VH4 different enough from the Fokker to the point that I dug one and not the other. It's that simple. If you like the Fokker, great. I'm sure I like amps that don't do much for you.

Channel 2 is a hot rod version of the VH4 channel 3 / Herbert channel 2+
mix with 20% more gain available.
Presence, Deep as always.
Master 2 on the footswitch.

Based on Peter's own description, the Fokker was close to channel 3 of the VH4. I stand by my statement above. lol

Maybe the VH2 has the same transformers as the VH4 (whereas the Fokker didn't), which will make it closer.

I've owned/played enough Diezel amps to realize that they all have a similar tone. To read comments like ..."completely different" makes me laugh. The mid-cut of the Herbert/DMoll are what really set those two apart in terms of tonal variation from the VH4, Einstein and others I've played (an the VH4 is definitely tighter), but otherwise, you cant get the various models to sound very similar IMO. I like Diezels, but they all sound pretty similar and compressed to me. Maybe my ears aren't as nuanced as some here. What do I know. lol

I totally agree that many builders & modders have their own "sound" that can often be heard within their line/mods. I'd definitely say diezel is one of those. I owned and gigged both a vh4 and Herbert, and spent some time on the Fokker. Were the differences like comparing a jcm800 to a Mesa recto? Of course not - they're all certainly diezel flavored in tone and compression; but, they're different enough that a player may like one and not the other. If not, why have different models?

I do really hope the vh2 nails the vh4 channel 3 tone. I've been jonesing a vh4 again, so I'd be all about that \m/

Hey Matt your ears are just fine.

I think it sometimes gets down to making small changes that can change the tone a lot... and marketing. Like Soldano offering 3-4 different amps that are supposed to "nail or be exact copies" of the SLO lead channel. If you want the exact SLO lead channel... buy a SLO.

How would you folks compare the Lil Fokker to the Einstein? I've only ever played the Einstein and loved the range from cleans to Stevie Ray Vaughan to searing metal. Can the Lil Fokker do that, too?
