I am between this, an Einstein and a 5150 Iconic. Have you done the 5150 iconic in depth?
Interesting array of amps you're choosing between. I assume you're in Europe, because those amps are all like $1000 apart on the used market in the US

No, I live in Illinois/Missouri.
Dude, I’m in Indiana, you want some of that
Hum action?
Come and get you some my man.
That drummer happens to be one of
my top five Captains.
I know just how he cuts for those octave jabs.
And that clown just discovering the groove
in the super-riff in “Stars”?,
I was on that like flies on shit right after I heard it.
I miss my son singing the intro to that song while I played it on acoustic.
Very Pumpkins-like riff’ery with Soundgarden type
bass notes riff fills-f’n cool shit man!!

I got amps..you won’t want to go home man.
Let’s do “The Pod” first cuz the drums are up front
-like STP and we’ll get FIRED up man from that opener!

Why would I want a bunch of amps that sound the same?
That's the point - how can you compare 3 different amps when they're not even comparable? Just based on used value alone, you could buy the Iconic and Einstein both for the price of the VH2. The Diezels share some similar DNA but are made for totally different things. Einstein vs VH2 would be a reasonable comparison, since they both share a similar "Diezel" voice, but throwing the Iconic into that equation doesn't even make sense :p

no contest here. Peavey sound much better than Diezels :)
Last time we brought VH2 to recording session and it sounded just terrible beside the other amps. We had Triple rec, Wizard MC2 and VHT Deliverance and those sound much better. Not a fan at all, I had VH4, Einsteins, Lil Fokker and Hagen. Last one is most overpriced POS on market, hated it immediatelly :)

Good thing tone is subjective, because I think the VH4 sounds better than Triple Recs, MC2s or Deliverances. Haven’t made my mind up on Peavey amps yet.

Diezels are affordable in EU so there is not 'those are pricey, they have to sounds amazing' syndrome. Oposite of Mesa Boogie which are priced insane in Europe.
Herbert is only one I quite like.

One day I'll try the Herbert but the main one that seems like a dream amp would be the VHX!

I am looking at it for some OD tones. I don't give a shit about price.

You will love the VHX, John. It nails all the Diezel tones.
I love my VHX.

In fact, I'm using the Own Hammer Diezel Cab IR G12K100 + V30 in my VHX,
and I'm using your JS M+ IR.
It's excellent, man!!! Sounds Amazing! Nice job!!

So in other words, we have to use the IR’s
for this amp to sound like that?
You mention (in a questionable tone)
you CUT something?
-Back up.
That something is likely why someone was bummed and sold that amp.
I dig the Tool, heavy metal Scuttle Buttin’ riff tho’

You ever wonder Jon that someday soon you’ll
be able to run a line out to your butt from your amplifier?
Butt-IR’s!!!!then out to the speakers!

Questionable tone? I used a low cut for the full mix sections at 80 hz or so.

I love your videos on the VH2 @Guitarjon! I’ve watched them like ten times, haha.
I’m trying to decide myself right now whether I should get the VH2 or if I should go for the VH4.
What made you decide on the VH2, other than availability and affordability?

I'll chime in. The cleans. The cleans are as good as a fender or vox. And the gain is as good as a Diezel.

I'll chime in as well...I would defiantly miss Chan 4, it a great channel for rhythms and leads. I use it a lot for heavy riffing. The VH4 covers so much ground tonally it's amazing.
