I posted this at TGP and the Digitech 1101 page, so I figured I would add it here as well.
I just played a large (120,000 attendance total) 4-day outdoor festival in Colorado with about 20 national touring Top 40 Country and RedDirt acts (Jason Aldean, Randy Rogers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Montgomery-Gentry, etc.) and, for what it's worth, the stage manager of the very large sound company (who is a guitarist) immediately came over and asked me what the hell I was using to get such a killer live tone out front.
He almost fell over when I showed him my GSP1101 XLR direct to the board. He said, "That doesn't sound like a typical live guitar tone; it sounds like a polished studio tone coming out the main system. (24 JBL Vertec line arrays and 16 dual-18 Vetec subs per SIDE; 300+ par cans, intelligent lighting and TWO 30' JumboTron LED Screens) My band was the first act on the main stage and we played on the Jack Daniels stage every evening for the after party with about 4000-6000 per night for our show. After 4 solid days of hearing the other national acts he actually made a point to came over to me and told me that I had the best tone of the week and he was amazed how polished and professional it sounded compared to the traditional rigs the other acts were using. (Tons of boutique and traditional amps (65, /13, LOTS of Vox AC30CC, etc. and pedal boards (lots of Fulldrive and Boss pedals)
I gigged the whole week with my GSP direct to the PA and stereo power amp and 412 cab live on stage. I also blended in my Line 6 Flextone III backup amp ABY'd together set on the Plexi model semi-crunch as my constant dry tone (on-stage only, out front tone was GSP only) but it really added texture and presence to my personal stage tone. I have gigged for almost 25 years with every imaginable combo of tube/boutique and modeled tone, but this was the very best live tone I have ever had and it was a joy to plug in and hear it just rip every day on a big outdoor setting.

I just posted live mp3 recordings ripped from the DVD at http://www.jackrowdy.com.
(4 tunes in the audio clip section at top right of page)
It definitely sounds more digital compressed into mp3 on tinny PC speakers than via DVD on my home theater system, but I still think it's decent for a true 4-piece band live recording from a $400 processor direct to the board.
I have a few more cuts that are more guitar intensive, I just haven't had time to separate them from the DVD file.
Better Love Someday for more rock flava. (solo @ 2:15)
I Gotta Find You is more pop country (solo @ 2:10 and ride out @ 3:00)

PS: This is just pop-rock-country fluff...Please be gentle...
