sounds very sweet. would like to see the guitar in the video with the pickups in it

do you rec. the pickups?

scott's a nice guy, but it's a shame you have to boost the amp

Sounds good Matt. So used to you with that ESP, weird hearing you with another guitar.

Nice rocking playing dude! I just got the injector the other day to try out on the bridge on my 73' strat and you're right, its considered a "hot" pickup, but it reminds of an HS-3 ( takes gain well yet still not fizzy) but with more output and tighter bottom. I noticed the EQ on that pickup is almost identical to an HS-3/YJM as well. Im digging it as well for the "heavy rock" stuff and looking foward to trying out the neck position as well.

thanks!! you sum it up perfectly..it's got more punch than more vintage single coils but it needs some help to get into heavier riffing and whatnot..which is fine..I was honestly taken a little aback by it when I first played it unboosted...sure, I saw the numbers but I was thinking 'well, gilbert uses it so it must be pretty hot'..so I slapped a pedal in front of it and got a feel I'm comfy with...

it's cool that you can boost the snot out of it and it stays clear and gets angry though..not spikey..

I'll probably shoot another video of the clean channel with the singles and some schmoe on it...I'll angle the cam better next time...

'rec.' the pickups? not sure what you mean?

ahh, my beloved haji...lol...that's in quasi retirement for the moment as the frets are in dire need of a redress or *gasp* replacement =( probably after the new year..

it's funny...the haji was my main and ONLY guitar for like ten years...now I can't seem to stop buying shit..lol...cheap ass teles, strats, lps, pickups...and I'm in the middle of making another drop in pick guard with different configuration for this strat...it's silly...guess I'm making up for lost time..hehe

thanks for checking it out

That was some smoking playing, I may have to look into the Injector as I am not too happy with my Yngwie loaded strat.

That sounded killer!! Great playing too!

I'm actually looking at replacing the Duncan SSL-6 in the bridge of my USA Strat with a hum-cancelling replacement. Was thinking of going with the Duncan Custom Stack Plus, but after hearing that Injector pickup i might give that a go instead.. It sounds like a beefier/hotter Dimarzio HS-3!

sounded great dude, you got me gassing for an Injector now, thanks!

if you're looking for a single with a little more beef then you should dig it..the yngwie's are cool but they can get a little shrill...this isn't like that...

it's funny that the HS-3 comes up because that's what my buddy said after the install and I was playing through is rig..'reminds me of the HS-3'..just with a tamer top end and some added chunk on the bottom end..

I could make some non boosted vids too when time permits...

ahh...recommend!!! duh...

yeah, it's a great single coil...it even mixed well with the fender noiseless in the middle for that postion 2 notched sound..

as I said..they say it's a 'hot' single..but that's not saying much..through my rig at least, by itself I can do some blues with it but I couldn't do any of my normal type of playing without a boost...but it takes boosting and gobs of gain really well...so it's actually pretty versatile

Sounds great and cool shredding. I didn't know you could play that fast ya yanka!

I dig some of the MIC strats. The neck on some of the the 50's vintage vibe strats feel extremely comfy to me. I'm always scoping them out at stores, I mean, you can't go wrong for the price....great fixer uppers.

even clipman can learn something new! hehe..thanks!!

exactly..they're a great working platform..it's stable and has some weight to it...tuners aren't loose..frets aren't hanging over the board...and I'm a sucker for the old school head stock ;)

I have a few MIC strats that I'm fixing up for travel uitars and a '92 MIM strat (that I picked up for $300) and it's my favorite playing/sounding strat ever. I never expected it to be a MIM strat but you never know.

First thing I do is change out the tuners for locking Sperzels. Stays in tune waaaay better.
