Sounds great and cool shredding. I didn't know you could play that fast ya yanka!

I dig some of the MIC strats. The neck on some of the the 50's vintage vibe strats feel extremely comfy to me. I'm always scoping them out at stores, I mean, you can't go wrong for the price....great fixer uppers.

even clipman can learn something new! hehe..thanks!!

exactly..they're a great working platform..it's stable and has some weight to it...tuners aren't loose..frets aren't hanging over the board...and I'm a sucker for the old school head stock ;)
I have a few MIC strats that I'm fixing up for travel uitars and a '92 MIM strat (that I picked up for $300) and it's my favorite playing/sounding strat ever. I never expected it to be a MIM strat but you never know.

First thing I do is change out the tuners for locking Sperzels. Stays in tune waaaay better.

I haven't found many tuning issues as of yet...I think this has an upgraded nut in it which is probably part of the reason...we'll see how much of a beating these stockers can take....I won't be opposed to upgrading them if needbe

Good stuff--I think Dimarzio REALLY got it right with the Injector series.

Killer chops as always dude(alternate picking anyone?)...pinch harmonics at will...killer tone.

I've always dug the fat headstocks on strats also. Seems like those sound better. More mass.

I have a MIM strat that has a Warmoth maple, scalloped, fat headstock neck that is one of my all time faves. A great sounding workhorse. It has had so many pickup changes it ain't even funny. Currently has a Hot Rail in the bridge stock middle, and either a YJM or HS3 in the neck,I can't remember.

That Injector sounds pretty fat (or is it the Splawn w/boost?) and has me thinking about trying one. If you have had any Hot Rail experience how do they compare ?

thanks for the view and compliments!

man, the hot rails..I had one in a shit wannabe strat of unknown make when I first started playing like 18 to 20 years ago..lol..they're really hard to compare...I know the injector is technically a 'humbucker' because of the way it's got stacked magnets..but the hot rails is a true humbucker just in rails form...and it's hot..WAY hot...

the injector is a pretty fat pickup...fatter than the fender noiseless it replaced...like has been mentioned it's a 'hot' humbucker...but it's nowhere near as hot as the hot rails...that pup drives front ends of amps for days..

beleive it or not, it sounded fatter in the room..but alot of the bass didn't translate to the recording..that and the SD-1 sucked some low end out too...you know how boosting can go...(as an aside, I just received my bad monkey today...I liked the idea of being able to dial bass back in right on the pedal to bring it into 'unity' with the amp by itself)

when time permits I'm going to try to make some unboosted vids and some clean clips so folks can get an idea of what it'll sound like without a boost or a super saturated amp..

Killer chops man!

I really liked the sound as well. I've been wondering about the Injector, how it would sound in that kind of '
budget' guitar and now I think I found the answer:

Thx!

Awesome clip Matt! Been a while since you posted anything. Love your playing and tone!

thanks michi and gibson..

like I said, when time permits I'll make some non boosted clips..you'll find it sounds very different..lol
