Thats like saying pussy isnt good. I understand tone is subjective but for metal Dime and Hetfield are my favorites.
Exactly. It's like saying a fat bitch's blue waffle isn't good. Sure, you might enjoy it, but there are tighter and cleaned snatches out there.

Dime fans must have some serious disposable income to constantly be buying into the nostalgia.

Also never been a fan of the "all slice and no thump" solid state fizz, but then again people are willing to spend thousands to obtain it.

I read a thing how people in their 50/60s spend money on things they liked as teens, then they got older and worry about retirement and stop spending, gotta get them now lol

That sounds spot on haha. I'm a 90s baby, so wonder if I'll be spending 8k on recreating POD Farm tones from the late 2000s hahaha

Oh I remember, it made zero sense to me back then too. I can understand someone not wanting that tone for themselves, but I can’t think of a tone that fit the music better. Randy’s tone I can see not liking, I don’t know how one puts on VDOP though and says this sucks
VDOP is absolute killer metal tone and the naysayers have tender vaginas for ears.

All slice, no thump, too much fizz, shreddy pentatonics, not for me. If you don't like it, you can speak to my crew :ROFLMAO:

did anyone ever actually buy one of those Dime amps? not sure ive ever seen one discussed.
I got one for free . I let my students use it in lessons .it’s not bad at all . Not great but can sound good

Besides Randy Rhoads, Dime had the most polarizing tone in metal. Perfect example of love the player, hate the tone, so what's the point of this?
I love the tone on vulgar . Especially Mouth fir War and Fuvking Hostile . But I like a lot of times for what they are

Pantera is about all I listen to. I think dime’s tone had to be experienced live. Fuckin dude was amazing.
i love dimes tone . Far beyond driven was too buzzy for me though and the last album just had weird production period for me .

When I opened for Crowbar back in the day they were using the Dime heads. Sounded just like their Randall tone to me
I found they sounded good quiet or mic’ed up . But if you needed them loud they farted out fast

I'm sure this "new" Warhead will be a totally different amp from the Randall ones regardless

Wait, Rhoads has a polarizing tone?! It's just a barely modded Plexi...

I like dime and Randy’s tone . I really like when people just do something different . It’s all variety to me
