Nice playing by Goldy. Just wished he had been using an Engl Blackmore instead of a Powerball.

Why is that ?

I'd pay to see Goldy instead of that hack Campbell.

  Really now, I was talking about amps, not players! The Blackmore head would seem to be a better match to this style of music than a Powerball.

Dude...

Campbell is a way better player than Goldy...just sayin

My god that was SLOOOOOOWWWWWWW . I guess when they tuned down to D they also slowed down the tempo. Boy these songs sludge around when they tune that low.. recent Bon Jovi and Scorpions is the same way, the songs put along and what seems like a snail pace. The tuning just doesn't work for me.

I saw Craig last year with Uli Roth and he sounded great. He did all Dio songs, whether it was Rainbow, Sabbath, or Dio. Unfortunately, he didn't play any of his own Dio songs, which I thought was strange. All the fools sailed away is one of the best Dio songs of any era, why not play it?

Campbell may have been "better" than Goldy, but he hasn't played anything useful since 1985.

Have you heard Campbell's new stuff with "Last in Line" ?

I will gladly send you Viv's new album "Heavy Crown". Craig Goldy has not played anything useful in ages. In those videos of Dio's Disciples he looks like he is just collecting a paycheck. I cannot say the same for Vivian and The Last in Line.

Vivian might not be a shredder like some, but sometimes its about what note you play vs how many....

Well I was thinking that but thought it was a bit harsh. Dream Evil has a few good songs IMO

Wow, way too slow and tuned too low. Hardly recognize it.

Viv and Craig are both great players.
While Viv was more of an influence on my playing,
I actually think Craig is a better player.
I didn't used to, but I've really gotten in to
the later DIO cds in the last few years.
Master of the moon and Magica are actually quite good!
Dream Evil is great too. Craig also wrote some of the songs
on Killing the dragon even though Doug Aldrich did all of
the playing on that one.
