Direct Dry Clips of the OD100SE+ and the AXEFX ULTRA..no FX

First one is Axe. 2nd one is real amp. Reason I can tell is the high end is not completely correct on the first part.

To be honest I had to take the presence way back on the Od100 compared to my normal settings because it sounded way too fizzy...so I think I tend to dial in too much fizz(sizzle, top end) to begin with....so it's probably just user error and 48 year old deaf ears

Honestly people start flapping their wings about 'buzz' way too much. Guitar does need presence. In any case, you probably couldn't tell at all in a band mix. That high end gets swallowed by hihats and such.

woah I guessed wrong. Thought the first clip reminded me alot of my palmer sound, Second clip sounded great with the palmer, much better then I got it to.

The first time listening straight through it, I couldn't tell much difference. However, while listening to the second part drag the slider the first part. The difference is pretty apparent. When comparing the two that way, the first sounds like it's going through a different cabinet....that I don't like as much as the second cabinet. Pretty cool though, nonetheless.

A V30 sim. I can see that. It sounds it. How does the Palmer PDI09 handle the input? I mean, is there a cabinet it simulates or is it it's own thing? Or did you use an IR in your software?

listening to these I guessed that the first clip was the axe-fx. Actually I preferred the sound of the second clip more, just a bit smoother. I own an axe-fx standard and haven't gotten the sound I want running it direct. I still like micing my cabs, and definately running though a tube power amp with the axe. Nice to hear the clips, thanks for posting!

Do you have any experience with the Red Wirez stuff? I've been impressed with the convulubot thing of their website and a lot of AF users praise them. I can see why. They sound pretty good with few examples I've tried.
