I intend to add a gain structure switch to an older Dirty Shirley and understand what parts are needed and how to wire it.
I,ve seen a few pics of the completed mod on some amps and I noticed on a couple that the wire from the switch/components to the eyelet has used screened cable as opposed to the standard unscreened yellow wire that comes in the kit. Is there any value in using a screened wire rather than unscreened? I assume even if does maybe reduce any added noise by screening it the added noise must be minimal or the kit would have come with a screened wire.
It's no problem for me to to use some screened cable with the screen grounded at either the switch end or eyelet board end but is it worth it?
