Dude stop. At this point all it sounds like is wahhh  wahhhh

Everyone knows that, like everyone else, he got elevated after he was killed. That doesn't change the fact that he was already a legend with signature guitars, amps, pedals, and pickups in a time before everyone had signature gear. He had been on the cover of magazines for over a decade at that point, and was one of the best known guitar players in the world.

I'm not disputing that :P

To me the answer is no. If I liked his music before I do not and will not magically like it more or think he or it got better just because he died.

Take Jeff Hanneman for instance....he wrote some of the best thrash/metal songs of all time...he is dead now.....he and his music did not get better just because he died.

My mom's aunt made the best breakfast tacos when I was a kid....she passed.....her tacos and taco making abilities did not get any better after her passing.

You remembered the tacos though... that means they have been something from the past you remember fondly more so than if you were still eating them today ;)

the real answer is it all depends on when they die, in relation to the output they have had.....rhoads was just beginning, Dime had already peaked, jeff/slayer were still putting out ok albums but they don't live up to their first 4 or 5 albums so the impact is less (depending on when you become a fan)

I still like taco's....but I doubt I will when I die
