I think that's a great idea and one that should be embraced fully. Over the last year this forum has basically become a sort of paradise for neo-soul guitar enjoyers. Just look at the recent thread of clip entries. Beautiful tone and licks throughout, featuring some of the nicest guitars south of PRS private reserves you will find anywhere among the guitar forums. It just goes to show you that Rig Talk is more than just EVH tone and chugga chugga. Tan pants and Carlos

If you saw what passes for avant garde jazz nowadays you'd be begging for some PRS private reserve lawyer blues bands. Unbelievably bad. Like two five year olds with a drumset and a trumpet, lol. Makes Eric Dolphy seem like a pocket player, LOL.
On the other hand is Sonny Sharrock. Ask the Ages is one of my all time favorite albums, period. Les Paul+Marshall with an all star jazz lineup. According to his daughter that album was his dream. Elvin Jones, Pharoah Sanders, Charnett Moffett and produced by Bill Laswell. Completely unique IMO without being so outside as to qualify as noise. Melodic but free...
