@Floyd Eye Do you have any recommendations on blades?
I just switched over a DE razor a few months ago and got a Viking Blades Chieftain 5BC which so far seems pretty decent. I bought a variety of sample pack blades. The ones I've tried get the job done, but none have stuck out as the one to stay with.

I almost exclusively use Feather Hi-Stainless. They're the sharpest blades. They are unforgiving of bad technique, but they shave smoothly and very efficiently. The only other blades I use are Gillette Platinum. They are smoother than feathers and more forgiving, but they aren't as efficient. Buy from reputable sources because fake blades is a thing. I like Maggards, but have bought off Amazon with no issues as well.

I prefer aggressive razors and even the Old model is nowhere near as aggressive as my Wunderbar. The main thing with the old is you have to physically line the blade up straight with the edge of the razor. It's not held in the proper place by a bar or knobs on the cap. No big deal really, just a minor inconvenience.

By the way the "New" model is very aggressive as well.
I have the several new models and have shaved with them and I have one "old" but it's a really beaten up one and I haven't tried shaving with it.

That's what I use... I probably have a lifetime supply of them thankfully.

Yeah, I have a pearl Gourami. They've always been my favorite.
Same here mate.

I'm not sure what I want to do with their tank once the turtles move. I've been wanting a couple Cichlids again. It may get converted to that.
Almost zero maintenance might be a Tanganyikan Cichlid colony.

I'm thinking Brichardis or something.

Again, for the uninitiated; such a beautiful fish:

Well, I just shaved with a Gillette Old Type razor. Patent date November 15 1904. This example was manufactured in 1918 as part of a batch of 3.5 million that were sent to US GIs in WWI. It is a very aggressive razor. Attention to angle and pressure will reward you with an insanely close and irritation free shave though. Some things didn't really improve over the last 106 years.
Gillette blades get dull so fast! I remember getting this rubber pad to clean the blades years ago and now I'm realizing I never tried them and I don't know where they are at. Hahahaha

I love to take photos and videos (ground and air). That's definitely my second most time sink.

I have thick facial hair. I get 5-7 shaves out of a Gillette Platinum blade. About $30/100 blades. That’s 500 shaves for $30. I’m not complaining.

That's awesome. noob question - are platinum blades meant to be held by your hand without a handle?
