Does anyone here build guitars or know a pro luthier?

I found a Charvel custom shop guitar I just HAVE TO HAVE (pictured below), but unfortunately it has been bought already  . It’s still up on the website, but not available.

The only thing I know to do is find a pro builder who can build an exact replica of this guitar.

I know what some of you will say. I could just buy the black production san dimas.

NO! It’s not even remotely the same! The fretboard on the production model is an unfinished, dull ebony. Doesn’t have anywhere close to that stealth black look. The black paint on this custom shop guitar is a darker, more jet black. The production san dimas is a crappy looking pale, dull black. It’s not even close.

You might also say, just order parts custom made from Musikraft or some other parts builder like that.

Once again. NO! I’ve ordered from Musikraft before and their quality SUCKS! Their necks feel awful, and are nowhere near the feel you would get from this Charvel custom shop.

I’m looking for someone who is a top notch builder who can build something of equal quality, feel, and playability, and duplicate this guitar exactly.

Price is not an issue.

If anyone here thinks they or someone they know can build a guitar like I’m asking for, and can duplicate this one down to the same superpositions of the subatomic particles in the wood, then please hit me up.

Check Chubtone guitars. He specializes in builds with charvel specs.

The headstock will be an issue, I have a Chubtone and they were the first that came to mind.

But imo, if good fretwork is done I don't see why a good Musikraft or Warmoth couldn't get there. The ones I've bought have been great but they of course didn't have the final fretwork and other touches that good builders add.

Check out this build.

Never mind. Looks like it was that very guitar or nothing, and I missed it. Close won’t cut it for me. Must be exact.

I won’t even consider musikraft or warmoth. Total crap product I’ve wasted money on before. Nothing you buy from them has a high end feel. It especially won’t even come close to matching that charvel custom shop guitar. I had a musikraft charvel that I built which I used for years. The moment I stopped using it and got a production charvel and Wolfgang special I quickly realized I was a much better player because that musikraft just sucked. It played horribly, sounded horribly. It just fought me every step of the way.

Is getting Charvel custom shop to build you one not an option? :dunno:

Lol... When I was going to sell my stuff I was planning to kill myself, not go off the grid.

Well, I guess those two are the same thing. Lol

No, I’m not planning to do that anymore.

I'm sorry but warmoth makes excellent necks and bodies !.
I can't speak for musicraft
Yes it takes a luthier to do the finishing touches.

Thank goodness for that! That would not be a very nice thing at all. Glad you are better.

I would say if you really, really want that version, just be patient, place the order and get exactly what you want. It may take time but it will be worth it in the end. It may not be as long as you think!

No, the timing is everything. I need it this year within the next couple months or sooner. Even if I didn’t need by then, there’s no way I would wait that long for it.

Just found out this guitar can be reordered and put back in stock! Hooray!!

Can you post a clip?

This thread really makes me wish there was a middle ground option between a stock off the shelf Charvel and a Masterbuilt Custom Shop Charvel that takes 3 years to get.

Problem is there is no more good woods left anymore thanks to China and their demand for knock off antique furniture.

Most guitar manufacturers today are having a hard time finding Ebony that's black, Maple that's dry without having to "bake" it,...etc

Just checked. Right now the wait time is 12-15 months
