Does Mesa Boogie hate the fact that they ever made the IIC+?

It's pretty childish to get all butthurt over that....I mean seriously, if someone cancelled their order because their "man" feelings are hurt now... lol.

Mesa is awesome, great company and great products. What a bunch of uppity snobbish girls.

I'm a Recto guy, not really a Mark guy, and if Mesa came out with something that they say would blow away my pre 500 rev C, I'd say bring it on.

Yeah, Mesa is awesome.

Everyone loves the Cabclone. I mean Petrucci sure does - https://twitter.com/jpetrucci/status/520788230078099457

The Mark V's IIC+ mode totally destroys the original. I mean, Petrucci seems like he agrees - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQQZubv-lJw

Yep, totally trusting Mesa's marketing.

Lol.

Mesa should just change their marketing. " We made our best stuff 20yrs ago, much better than today's products, so hurry and buy current production gear before it's all gone!"

Would this please you? Do you understand what marketing is, and what it takes to make a business successful?

Mesa is right. I am a total gear snob when it comes to my Pre 500 rev C. I raise my nose at anything that comes along to try to compete with it (like the reborn rectos), but if they can build something as good or better, great. I would never cancel my order if they called me out on what I just said, I am a man, and would say bring it on. It's called innovation and sometimes they win some, sometimes they loose some. The pre 500 rectos, and the 2C+, were all un proven production models once apon a time.

Toss in a fresh tampon and let us know the results of your report.

I'm not going to sit and name call, but I think your logic here is misplaced. You really think taking a totally unnecessary swipe at - even a single - customer is "good" business? You really think there was no other way to point out how awesome the JP2C is without making some bizarre claim about devaluing the IIC+s?

I guess I see your point about it being childish that someone would cancel a preorder for an amazing sounding amp on the basis of that comment alone. I don't know, some might. In my case, I just haven't felt that the JP2C has the "it" factor of the originals in terms of sound. It's a cool amp I guess, but so was the Mark IV, V, V25, Road King, Roadster, Tremoverb, etc., etc. The IIC+, particularly the simulclass with the graphic, is in the company of maybe 3 or 4 other amps that are my Mt. Rushmore of amps.

I hate judging amps by you tube though....I really do hope it compares well, probably not quite there but its really a great package for the price. I remember after I owned an HR100, I was contemplating an SLO. Found a YouTube that seemed to be an identical comparison SLO/HR50....bought an SLO and it wasn't close to me. HRs are nice amps... SLOs are on a whole nother level.

Youtube for Mesa is basically a professional recording. If their "glamour shot" sounds lame, what do you think the un-photoshopped version is going to be like?

Based on what you've heard and your experience with the IIC+, would you pick up a JP2C over a loaded IIC+ if both were available at $2.5K?
No...of course not! Lol..I always go vintage when possible. Problem is, loaded 2C+ are hard to find for that price. But, I might take a chance on a used one down the road....

3 days ago there was a loaded original 2C+ Combo with a hardwood cabinet on Reverb for $2,500 accepting offers... It's gone now.

I'm not planning on buying the new JP amp either. I'm happy with my shitty 2C+

Shitty 2C+...LOLOL yeah yeah

I giggled.

The answer to the original question in the thread title is NO. What a silly question.

Damn..good price!

I dont see the big deal. If your interested....buy it. If you dont like it...sell it? :dunno:
What is the problem? Somebody will take it off your hands if your not digging it.
Jeez.....

Of course this new amp is versatile but, I'd be surprised if it had better tone than my Mark III.

It's like a slap in the face for some of the people that bought the old amps when they were such a small company. When you ordered one of their amps back then, you were a hardcore tone freak. These amps were lots of money(for the time). Now, they are trying to be more competitive in the marketplace, for sure. But there was no need to call their longtime players "snobbish". I just don't see any benefit to doing this.

But what if the JP-2C actually IS better in every way?

I found the statement pretty funny (I'm the one who quoted it over on TGP), and I'm an original IIC+ owner. To get offended over it is ridiculous. The things that they changed are things that I totally agree will make the amp more usable! I don't put much stock in those Youtube clips so far, either. Petrucci is Petrucci and it sounded fine, the second one is totally not my style, and the third "rock" guy has terrible vibrato and is just kinda meh. Andy Timmons would be more up my alley, but these amps have to be heard and felt in person regardless.

Agreed. And really, all amps have to be heard in person. Clips just don't cut it, even though that's all we have sometimes. Gotta wait till someone tries one that has a history with other great rigs.

So you're the guy with the 60 watt non-eq IIC+? The guy that prefers the amp without even using an eq in the loop? Let me clarify something for you - when people talk about the IIC+, they're not talking about a stock 60 watter without the graphic.

Whatever makes you feel better about yourself. I use it with AND without the EQ. My amp slays, and I sound great through it. Probably better than most of those people you speak of.....so, LOL to YOU!

And did I even mention comparing it to MY amp? What does that even have to do with it? Let me guess, you are one of the know-it-all snobs over there who people (including Mesa themselves) are sick and tired of hearing spout off about how much they know, how many IICs they own, and how they could have built a better one.
