Does this fuzz pedal exist?

Looking for a tone bender type to hit a gained up Marshall type amp. Like a high gain Led Zep tone. The bender types I’ve tried seem to work best into a clean amp and the tone is still way bright and too different than my core tones. But hitting a gained up amp makes it a spitty mess.

I’m thinking the mkiv types might work but who knows. I’ve got a seeker descry. It’s cool but seems to need a cleanish combo amp to really do its thing.

Minotaur Sonic Terrors Evil Eye
Lead tone is Evil Eye into Diezel VH4 Channel 2 (full gain)

I know someone that could probably make you one….

The Mark IV is basically a Big Muff....they sound horrible with anything but a clean amp.

Most fuzz pedals only work with a clean amp. Some sound okay with the amp set to point of breakup. I don't know of any that sound good with much more gain than that on the amp. A very light crunch maybe.

Idk but have you tried a germanium fuzz face/sun face type pedal?

To me those are the opposite; bad in to a clean amp but awesome in a gained up one

I use the Sobbat Fuzzbreaker 1R (basically a germanium sun face)

I've never tried a Tone bender type

I’ve had good results with face face types into gained up amps but you gotta really work the volume on the guitar…and definitely easier with single coils

But I’d love to get some tone bender qualities with a humbucker into a hot amp if possible.

My flytrap brundle fuzz with the settings tweaked low was getting me a LZ1 sound all day long. Communication breakdown, how many more times, good times, bad times….can’t remember how I had my amp set up but I was shocked at how it sounded. Totally stumbled into it one night just Fuckin around.

When an amp is already gainy, putting a fuzz in front is usually a mess. Certain fuzzes you can get away with it, running them more like an overdrive (level up,fuzz down)
Guys who used Tonebenders back in the day, Beck, Ronson, Page, didn't run their amps gainy, they ran them loud.

That said Tru-Fi makes a great Tonebender, the Sozo Fuzz. I had one years ago. This was humbuckers, the SoZo Fuzz into the Clean ch of a DSL.

yeah .... I'd have to say Fuzz and hi gain signals .... don't really mix .... 99% a farty abnormal mess ... there's exceptions to everything ...

for the most part ... you want that clean headroom to let that Germanium Transistor shine ....

My Brundle Fuzz does HiGain Zep Tones .... but you have to put it into a clean channel / Amp ........ but it's also a gated type silicon Fuzz ... it's not old school Germanium ....

I can build a Tone Bender clone ... what ever Mk you want ... Small Bear still sells the matched NOS Germanium Transistor sets ....

could even use old school Mullard Tropical Fish caps too ... like in my Rangemaster clone ..... but old school parts are expensive ....

Very interesting…I bet that sounds killer

I messed around with the descry tonight and it was better. I went extreme settings for the tone and it wasn’t so harsh and bright. It was into a clean channel.

It’s like those pedals along with muff styles just sound almost hi fi. I love some of the qualities but it’s a huge change going from modded Marshall to tone bender. Also challenging trying to get all that sustain but still hold together somewhat.

Definitely better but might be another example of something I like the idea of more so than the reality.

I use a Basic Audio Scarab Deluxe to get the Led Zeppelin stuff. But I am using a fairly clean amp.
