I would argue that we are already there. I have never seen (in my lifetime) a obviously stolen presidential election. People being political prisoners in the DC gulags. An obvious assassination attempt on a former president, not to mention the law fare against him. It may have always been there but now it's in your face and nothing can be done about it.
