I don’t consider these tones good . So I feel like I’m missing something
Do you guys think this sounds good ? Some of these tones on riffs he picked sound like ass .

The korn tone was worse than theirs and Korn had a shit tone on that album . But it worked I’ll admit . I want to add a recto again someday . Msybe pose me some good ones here

I think Nielsen is a really nice guy and I think he’d be a terrific dude to hangout with and nerd out on stuff with

As far as his tones and his playing…not for me and I’ll leave it at that

He seems really nice .

Yea man the few forum exchanges I’ve had with him have been great and he’s always so incredibly down to earth.

Beyond that I think his demos are very well produced but the tones leave something out. The Alta demo he did for example, I mean it was just kind of fizzy sounding in that one to my ears.

I would double these tracks in the video to make it better if I was him
That would help I think

Dude doubling everything is my most recent obsession, it just sounds so juicy!

I spoke with him at namm and really enjoyed- really nice guy

Damn! I’d love to hang with him, maybe force him to play my settings and see what he thinks lol…maybe one day hahahaha

I thought Everlong was pretty close, would dial different for the AIC, Nevermore, or Kings X tones though. I bet a lot of the other tunes would good sound in a mix or at least passable live. I generally play a little heavier stuff than him, but I like his vids. Great player, cringy "O" face.

I'm gonna need to play a new one before I pull the trigger, but all accounts from people I've talked to that have played them have been positive. Much less controversial than the IIC+.

Honestly if I get one it’s got to look weird , be odd . I’m bored of normal looking heads lol
Idk why

Of the riffs I recognized, they all sounded worse than the albums.

I've always disliked Rectos but I am surprised how he managed to make them sound worse. Maybe he gets the benefit of the doubt without all the extra EQing a final track has but that was a pretty shit demo.

You gotta crank the mids to 2-3 o’clock on the older rectos. Not the best demo. But I will dissent and say I did the guys videos.
A Recto is one of the amps most in need of pre and post tweaking to get right for a mix. I can’t imagine many clips, straight in, that would sound like a record that used one. Also many albums that we thought used a recto in the 90’s was a modded Marshall.
