I rarely post on the intra-webz unless I really think something is worth mentioning, that other guitar players might enjoy or really benefit from. Enter Landry Amps...You have to do yourself a real favor and hear one of these amps!!!

I recently had the pleasure of spending time with Bill Landry of Landry Amplification. Bill is a super humble, modest, talented amp builder, and has great rock chops, to boot. Bill came down to SKH Studios in Florida, and we spent a few days working alongside Dave Linsk of Overkill and Speed/Kill/Hate fame, in a professional studio recording environment, tweaking and tuning some of Bill's really cool custom handmade amps, known as the Landry LS100 and the newer Landry G3 R (the refined, recording version of the amp which is now the main design Bill is building.)

I have to say, after some minor tweaking, recording, revising, and dialing in, the resulting amps are absolutely killer!!!! Bill's amps really are a very plexi-voiced design, and actually DO sound like REAL old super-hot-rodded vintage marshalls, unlike most of the other boutique guys out there that "sort of" sound like a more modern, darker marshall of sorts.

For the classic to heavy rock player, this newest variant of the Landry G3 amp absolutely has to be played and heard, to believe how well they now totally nail and deliver the vintage marshall goods, but with absolutely no pedals, tons of gain on tap, extra foot-switchable gain stage, great on-board spring reverb, great effects loop, and a killer fender clean channel as well. These are serious pro tools!!!

I was so blown away, I wound up buying two of these amazing handmade boutique Landry amps, now hand-tuned by Bill. I'm a metal guy at heart, but I can't STOP playing them! FREAKING TONE!!!! I own a real 1969 plexi, and I can't get enough of my Landry LS100G3R into real vintage 1972 G12M greenbacks.

Check out the revised G3 amps, they're the real deal, no joke. If you can't get the brown sound, or about two dozen other killer vintage marshall plexi and metalface style rodded tones out of this amp, then you'd have to switch to keyboards LOL!!!!! These amps are THAT good. These amps totally KILLED my GAS for any sort of vintage marshall sounds, and best of all, the eq on these amps is so flexible that it sounds GREAT with every single celestion speaker type that I have plugged them into. Tons of flexibility to dial in with your speaker of choice. And these aren't just some van halen chaser amp, they do all the vintage and heavy rock you can cook up. Check it!!!!!!

And no, I have no affiliation with Landry amps, other than now I own and can't stop playing on them!!! LOL!!!

I always liked his demos.
Don't know why people don't buy them instead of Friedman, Cameron and others marshall hot rod.

I think the builder is very humble and just doesn't promote his amps very much. There also are not very many around to plug into and demo. I think if folks had access to plug in and try these, they would sell like crazy! To play one is to want it! With my Fortins and Langners for metal, and my Landrys for the heavy/hard rock n vintage thing, I feel like all my bases are covered LOL!!! Bam, no more GAS. I DO prefer these amps to the others mentioned.

What the heck is that blue guitar in the background! Inquiring minds want to know!

VERY intrigued by his work. And I always feel better buying an amp from someone who can really 'play' the guitar...and knows what to expect from an amp. I see this rivaling the Friedmans, Camerons, Fortins, Event Horizons, Brays, etc..... just without the media hype. Hoping to try one someday.

It's Bill's old Carvin. I've rarely seen him play it. In case anyone is wondering the Ibanez that Bill plays is a really cheap guitar that he upgraded the Floyd on. It has WB Habanero's in it. The dark blue guitar that he plays is one that he made. It has WB Firewaters. The Carvin I think might be stock. The White guitar has WB UV in the neck but he took the screws out of the neck pickup which made it an amazing sounding single coil tone... The bridge is a guitarforce pickup. Hopefully Bill will correct me if I'm wrong but I think I'm pretty close...
