RESIDENT ROCK PROFESSOR
I get to play Malcom . JVMs are really fun amps .
I borrowed an old one since he had his . We used channel 2 orange . Lower gainKiller...feel like JVMs are making a bit of a comeback around here.
My students playing Slipknot used a 210 hereHell yeah those are sitting great in the mix. JVMs have this modern-vintage vibe that sounds great.
I tend to prefer the 210H myself. The tonestack locations aren’t the same between the 210H and the 410H series.
My only complaint is that it never opens up and roars . But it’s a great amp and that roar I know is from my 70s and 90s Marshall’s so I have comparedKiller...feel like JVMs are making a bit of a comeback around here.

But they always sound good .Dude this is so true. They act like modelers in a sense in that there’s no way to dial in a growl or roaring raging river attitude on an open D chord. They’re very much constrained.
here’s me jamming live with my drummer . I used jvm410 with Diezel HerbertI haven't cranked my JVM and doubt I'll ever have a good reason to...but based on the tone, feeling and compression at shouting volumes, it seems like to wouldn't roar or "punch" the way an 800 would. That said!, it sounds killer at lower volumes and probably records amazingly.

Whej did you change your name? This was the amp I played Du Hast on, my fam is more mad

Thanks man ! It’s a fat ass tone ! Big thick combo !I like that! Could build tons of shit off that!
It’s a lil squished faster and not great with drums . 410 can play with drums decently enough .I think id get the 50 watt if I got one again.
Yeah I got to crank mine for years, other guitarist in my band had a 900 and a 800 and I just never had issue with it roaring. In fact he preferred using his 800 to keep up as the JVM was just burying him at rehearsals. Everyone hears and feels things differently though I just know for me that was never a question. My main live rig back at that time was the JVM, Slant 1960 with 75's, and Les Pauls w/ 500T or PRS's Tremonti's. I remember taking my VHT Sig, my JSX and the JVM to rehearsal as it had come down to those "for me" to see which worked best with the band and the JVM to a bandmember was like yep, that's it. And Fryette's, even the Sig can move some air. JSX ain't no slouch in that area either. The JVM's loves '75's.I haven't cranked my JVM and doubt I'll ever have a good reason to...but based on the tone, feeling and compression at shouting volumes, it seems like it may not roar or "punch" the way a JCM800 would. I like the JVM but ths isn’t possible . My TSL even ate them up roar wise . You just have a killer one . I like the JVM a lot . But it don’t open up like normal Marshalls . I tested this a lot . Speaking of which I’m going to post more jvm duels clips later . Wasn’t traveling with Larry or Hermanson so I used Herbert mk 3 with jvm . It’s pretty cool especially for an 8 string tuned down to D on the 8th stringYeah I got to crank mine for years, other guitarist in my band had a 900 and a 800 and I just never had issue with it roaring. Again though to each their own and I get it, it's more compressed but it just delivered for me in OD1 Orange, gain round 11. One thing I don't do though is skimp on the Resonance. For me there is a sweet spot to where it moves and or gets flabby for lack of a better term but both of mine are right around 3 o'clock.
Interesting...Mine is set OD1 orange, with gain at 11 o'clock and my resonance is exactly 3 o'clock. That resonance gives it a nice "weight" and thickness.Yeah I got to crank mine for years, other guitarist in my band had a 900 and a 800 and I just never had issue with it roaring.
