Hey guys, did this boosted Recto shootout tonight.

So my Triple is a mainstay, Racer put me onto it & we (the amp I mean) immediately bonded. Later on my buddy Daniel helped convince me to get a Multi-Watt which is a killer amp. Then, I was talking to Fluff & he turned me on to this Rackto for sale & I jumped on it because we thought it was a Rev F, but as it turns out it's a G. My goal was to pit the Rackto against the MultiWatt & see who wins. To be honest, up front I was thinking the MW would win. Now that it's done I think I need to define "win" a little better!

Check out the tonal comparo. What do YOU hear? To me, the vintage Rectos, just like the vintage Marks, have a more organic nature & better note separation. I'm looking forward to seeing if I can tell a difference in the band mix.

YT hit me with a copyright claim so while the playing is sloppy it's not THAT bad LOL!

To me the Multi seemed most open and just a hair more brittle (not the best word but) and the Triple sounded best in this test for me - a bit more angry. Laptop speakers.

Nice tones

Thanks. The MW definitely has the most fizz & top end here. Which is part of why it sounds so good in the band mix. The same basic setup & settings can be heard from the MW at the clip below, albeit with a different guitar.

I find that when recording I need to really push the top end higher than what's comfortable in the room. The MW has no problem here. The Rev Gs are a little limited out in this regard. The straight OS I used is my darkest cab, I could fix that by using a brighter cab. It's all about the sum of the parts.

As usual, sounds killer! Great job man. I agree with the MW having just a little more 'abrasive' high end; still really good but the two Rev Gs had a bit more 'sweetness' in the tone, and just a touch more clarity. But all 3 are very nice..can't go wrong with any of them. The differences would not be detectable at gig volume, I suspect.

Thanks man. I agree, the 2 channels are sweeter & have more clarity.

I'm told that the MWs are a little more "Rev F" in they have a little brighter top end. That's certainly the case here. If I do end up keeping the Rackto when I send it in for service I could always have it modded!

Yep, Mike told me he will mod any Rev G to the first version Recto, Rev C. In his words "It's the only mod that makes sense" meaning he feels you can tweak the G to match the rest of the revisions with just the EQ. It's like 200 from what I remember.
