Sounds like you might dig a Rio Grande BBQ bucker. Fat, Warm, percussive, etc.
I had one in my Les Paul and loved it, but eventually moved to an Aldrich (but I may go back to the BBQ).
I'm thinking about trying a BBQ bucker in my Fender Custom Shop '62 strat (ash body). Not sure what to expect with that, but I think I'll try it out.
