eBay purchase problem

I purchased a used Eventide modfactor off eBay. Pedal seems to function fine EXCEPT when you bump or wiggle the power supply supply. Then it powers down and powers back on. I contacted the seller the day I received and discovered the issue. I have another Eventide factor pedal so I told him I'd try the power supply from that one, figuring there was a short in the power supply cable. It does the same thing with that power supply. Upon further inspection, the power supply input jack moves a little bit. So it appears that is the issue.

Oddly I purchased the Assurant protection plan through eBay when I purchased the pedal(never have done that). It was about $8, so I figured, why not? So where do I go from here? Should I just file a dispute? The seller claims they never had issue with it. I'm trying to give him benefit of the doubt as his communication with me was great through the whole sale. But bottom line is I received a pedal with a problem right out of the gates.

Or do I file a claim with the Assurant plan? Anyone ever used this? I really just want a pedal that is working properly and as soon as possible. I haven't contacted them yet...or eBay. Figuring it was just a problem with the power supply, it would be a quick, easy fix. Got the pedal a little under a week ago I think.

I have no idea what the assurance plan is about. Presumably it was advertised as having no issues? If so, it does seem to have an issue so Id just ask him to allow you to return it for a refund. If he says now, I'd then file a dispute with both eBay and I guess PayPal to argue that the item was not as described.

Sounds like a simple fix.
Just open up the unit and resolder the loose jack on the board.

Yeah. And if you fuck that up you're stuck with a busted pedal that you can't return. Talk to the seller and if he won't take it back, then file a dispute. Good luck.
