Eddie had a lot of those Kramer guitars.
Those are probably the ones I think are the coolest looking VH guitars!
Here is a shot I took holding the one he loaned to GC in Hollywood.
This one had the tilted pickup, a floating FR tremolo and neck volute.
And yes, it was used a lot and it was dirty as shit!!!

I think "toured with" in this case means it went on the tour as spare for the next 10 spares and never saw the light of day. But.... it went on tour.

I actually played the one the Hard Rock bought for $17,500 back in the 90s at a Sotheby's auction - it was allegedly one of his "main players" - but he had quite a few of the 5150 style red/white stripe guitars. I sold celebrity owned guitars to the Hard rock Memorabilia Dept for over a decade, and had quite a good relationship with them, so when a Hendrix guitar would come back to "the mothership", or they bought something cool like the EVH guitar, they would call me up to come check it out.
me, being a rabid EVH fan, was really excited to check out the 5150 guitar. and out of all those years they let me loose in the warehouse, when I could have stolen ALL SORTS of cool amazing stuff......what did i do? I stole the low "E" tuner off the floyd rose and replaced it with another worn fine tuner screw.
i have never stolen anything in my adult life......except for this damn screw.....lol.....
