I'm not even American and I can understand that if you look at the context and time in which the 2nd Amendment was written, it's got fucking nothing to do with the people arming themselves against a tyrannical government.

It was written smack bang in the middle of the French Revolution, and America and France were very aware of what was going on in either nation.
France was being run by a conservative Assembly with the radical Left gaining dominance and would soon overthrow them and drag France through years of chaotic hell and public executions. They were also up to their tits in a war against Austria and trade bans with Britain.

The Second Amendment was written so the people could join well regulated militias to protect their government (free state) against tyrannical uprisings threatening to displace it.

American is run by money loving fat senators who are funded by the profits of the NRA. The sooner people start using their fucking brains and pay attention to the first half of the 2A instead of just the second half to justify their love of guns, the better off America would be.

How can you defend yourself against an armed attacker ? And before you answer, remember that not only were there arms available to all when the BOR was written, but the 2A is specifically about them and the BOR is specifically about unalienable rights.

if rights come from humans, they can be taken away by humans.

inalienable rights come from a higher power that cannot be taken away by a lower power.
